Are you awake now Suncoast? Good morning....bit chilly but very sunny. There that's the forecast today with a bit of chatter and reading thrown in. :)

OMG! Amazon Kindle support is amazing.

OK, they are replacing the frozen kindle. It should be here by 9th July. It may arrive earlier, of course, although July 4th celebrations may slow down the shipping.

I asked the support guy if the replacement for the frozen kindle would be a new one, he couldn't confirm that and we had a short discussion about refurbs. During this conversation I mentioned that my K3 had a slight crease below the right hand side of the screen but that I wasn't worried about it as it didn't appear to be getting worse. Amazon are replacing that K3 as well! According to the support guy Jeff Bezos wouldn't be happy with less that perfect Kindles out there and possibly being shown to other people.

So two Kindles will be arriving early next week or sooner. How amazing is that! Amazon rocks!

Anyway we now know that
a) Aussie retailers will replace Kindles if they have stock in, and will offer rain checks if they don't.
b) Amazon will replace Aussie store bought Kindles just as they would replace Kindles bought directly from them.

Sandra, you can go ahead and buy your K4 with complete confidence.

Cheers and a big smile, :-)
Julie

True! and eat your kittens leavings. And worse still, you have to eat raw meat for food.

Julie, the above info might be good to add to your FAQs?

Yes, I will, Discus. I need to spend some time on the FAQs but things are a bit busy for the next couple of weeks.

Freezing cold here. We've been having morning frosts. I chopped a whole pile of firewood this morning. Warms you up when you chop it and again when your burn it. We could see the snowy volcanoes to the south while we were riding yesterday, the air was so clear. So beautiful.

Raw meat is fine (I eat sashimi, capaccio, steak tartare), it's the dry cat food I'd object to!

That's been my experience with the wifi model, A Dietz; I was just unnerved by someone else saying differently about the 3G in this regard, which I don't have experience of yet.

I didn't realise Android apps also have their own kindle email address - not only is that useful to know, but it may account for the misinformation from the other person, if they sent their document to their android device email rather than a kindle email.

Worse even than that - if any of your children are born deformed you have to eat them too! :-)

Are you still thinking about it, VickiT?

VickiT says:
Hi CBP: If it helps, I have a Kindle email address for my iPod Touch -- I imagine any non-Kindle device with a Kindle app is the same.

LOL On second thoughts... :)

It's a long time since I've sent a document to a free kindle address, CBP, and I think that was to a K2. It may have changed since then, especially with the K3's onward .

Since we have both 3G and WiFi only Kindles I'll try to test it out later this week if I get a bit of free time. I'll send something to both the 3G and WiFi Kindles and see what happens.

Not freezing here, but grey and wet. I would so love a box fire.

I bet the snowy volcanoes vista was stunning. Breathing in the ice-cold air... ahhhhh!

Lovely and sunny here in Sydney, but also windy. It was quite cold first thing this morning but is warming up under the sun.

You do? I just checked my account, and although I have 3 kindle apps registered (Windows desktop, Windows laptop and Android phone), only the kindles themselves show up with kindle addresses in the list of personal document settings.

Aha, right. Just checked the "learn more" link and found this:
"You can view and download stored personal documents from your Kindle Library on Kindle Fire, Kindle Keyboard (with the latest software update, version 3.3), Kindle, Kindle Touch, Kindle for Android (running Kindle app version 3.5 or greater) and Kindle for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch (running Kindle app version 2.9 or greater). Kindle Personal Documents Service is currently not supported on other free Kindle Reading Applications."

So PCs are not included, and obviously I need to update the kindle app on my phone :-)

And it sounds as if things changed with the latest update to the Kindle Keyboards.

JJulieJ - That is great news because it confirms my hope that the Amazon warranty info in the Kindle box is supported wherever it is purchased. Hope the Independence Day holiday weekend doesn't hold up the shipping too much.

Sunshine Coast locals - a quick call around local Woolies shows that the Coolum store near the Sunshine Coast Motorway have two K3's for $79 and several Touch for $99 (sounds a great price).

Sorry Rod, that was me, I didn't like the way John was carrying on yesterday and Sat. I thought he was being deliberately difficult and rude to the other members so I 'no' clicked him. I certainly DIDN'T click Julie, there is no need to do so.
Going back to sit in the corner, not the naughty one though.

"certainly DIDN'T click Julie"

It was just the Julie clicks I noticed. You now have to have Brussels Sprouts on toast for lunch with no condiments! ;)

Sorry, just stumbled onto this forum and answered the question, didn't mean to cause confusion. I did set my Garmen GPS once to use the Australian voice and every time I turned onto Washington State Route 28 (WA 28) near my house it announced I was turning onto Western Australia 28. Kind of confused me at first.

CBP Bookworm, I think the android Kindle e-mail address must have been added recently. I just noticed it on the Personal Documents page and didn't remember it being there before.
