gOOD mORNING cAROL. (Bloody Caps Lock)

I will start with a reply to this post of yours first.

I was annoyed at that digital Trend link you posted.

Woke up early, opened it and got so sucked into reading it and about 5 other links from it the first hour just flew by. ["."]

THANKS much appreciated. \(^_^)/

Carol, I know what you mean. Big Brother is alive and well. LOL

Carol, I know that but at the time of ordering my Nexus 7 the cover and charger were not available to us Down Under and still aren't.

Shit they slug us $50 more and don't even include a damn charger.

The more I read on the Nexus 7 the more I cannot wait to have it in my hands.

Pete, It does say it comes with

What's In The Box

Nexus 7 tablet
USB sync/charge cable
Dual-voltage USB wall charger
Quick start guide

The charger in the accessories panel is an additional charger.

I have three Android phones and I've found the chargers for them and for my Kindles all work fine with each other as they all have the mini-USBs

Thanks Rod. I did not see this and just thought it strange there was no charger but then thought I might have one anyway.

I do but not sure if they are 2amp. My HTC Desire HD charger would not be 2amp I should imagine.

And the Nexus 7 has arrived. A much better all-round tablet than the Fire and about the only thing the Fire will have going for it will be the special Amazon deals.

Rumour has it...

Amazon said to launch two new Kindle Fire devices with better build, 10-inch model with camera

They better be quick!

"They better be quick!"

By not making the Fire available in Australia, Amazon has helped Google create the market here for the Nexus 7.

Sweating out the arrival of mine next month (I need to get a life! ;) )

Going through the Comments on that story this one stands out as the most reasonable...

After the initial pre-order rush, they could have exhausted their initial stock; leaving those who ordered after the stock ran out with a delivery date of July 31st. Just speculation though.

Also, the only source to officially list a July 31st release date is GameStop, which could very well have a different release schedule from that of Google's.
.................
i am glad some of us pre ordered early now!

The first built units might be buggy. I think I'd rather get the second build.

I hope amazon does release a 10" version. I think I'd rather have a 10" tablet, depending on price of course

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 30, 2012 3:44:13 PM PDT
Hopefully not!

5 million people took that chance with the Fire and received the support of Amazon.

X million of us will take that chance with the Google Nexus 7 and hopefully have the support of Google and Asus to back us up.

Personally for my needs a 10" tablet has proved too bulky/cumbersome and much prefer my 10" Netbook or 15" laptop for work. (Read Windows over Android)

Rod Govers says:
Yes, I find the 10" tablet too bulky, cumbersome and heavy too. The Nexus will fit in nicely between my Samsung Galaxy SII phone and my notebook.

GnomeEd says:
Yeah see, 5 million beta testers. LOL

A 10" tablet would be much better than than my 15" laptop. My main problem with the 7" tablets is that it seems like the web pages would be to crammed and not much work space. It just seems like it would be easy to work on a 10". No?

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 30, 2012 9:42:57 PM PDT
Yes a 10" tablet would be easier but I prefer using Windows for actual work and a tablet for leisure activities.

LOL If you reckon web pages would be cramped on a 7" tablet how do you think they are on my 4.3" HTC screen. :) Although I am used to reading newspaper stories with it when out and about and waiting around for people/things.

Will use the Nexus 7 lying in bed to read the morning news, in the lounge room for TV guide and weather reports. Also the quick Googling of something that might come up in conversation that needs to be verified or learnt about.

...and not to play Angry Birds. Well maybe to keep the house mate quiet will bring it up and hand it over. :)
