How do I create folders on my Kindle, and create folders within those folders in order to sort my books into these different folders? I looked at Calibre - doesn't work for me - is there a different way?

GnomeEd says:
Not folders. You create collections. You cannot nest them, ie you cannot have a collection with in a collection.

That would be covered in section 2.3 of the user's manual.

From the home page hit <menu> then "Create New Collection". Give it a name then <save>. Once viewing the collection you can hit <menu> and "add/remove items" to tag things in that new collection. Rinse, repeat.

You can also right click on a book and choose "Add to Collection". Then click on the collections you want to add the book too. This is what I do every time I download a new book.

You need to change your sort selection to "Sort by collections".

I have a question related to this. I have all my books etc saved to collections. A few weeks ago they randomly showed back up on the main page, even though they still say they are in the collections. Now I have to scroll through tens of pages to find my new downloads, and even to click on my collections. I've tried taking a book out of a collection and putting it back in, but it still shows up on the main page. How do I fix this? Thanks. I have a kindle keyboard.

Denis Powell says:
On the Home screen, take your cursor to the top of the screen and right click until "Collections" is underlined and then center click. You probably have it set to "By Most Recent First" at the moment.

That isn't what I get on my Kindle keyboard 3G. It remembers the view by collections over a restart and over the two updates.

I feel like mine did update a few weeks ago. Also around that time my husband stared putting books on it for himself, so it's very possible he changed it without realizing. :)
