Another update auto- installed last night.

Anyone notice any changes?

This is all Amazon has to say about it:

"We have a new, free software update available for Kindle Fire HD 7" that includes bug fixes and performance improvements. The software update will be delivered automatically via wireless."

I'm not sure if this was 7.2.3 or the previous 7.2.2 update but I remember being able delete apps and books from the cloud by click-hold the icon on the KF HD and selecting 'Delete from Cloud' or something similar. I don't have that option anymore.

Delete from Cloud from the device?
I don't remember that - have always thought permanently deleting was possible only from Manage Your Kindle on the Amazon website.

Sorry but that feature never existed for books. Like dawnsong posted you have to do that from your Manage Your Kindle page. Which you can do with the browser on the Fire.

What more is there to say? Bug fixes and performance improvements says it all.

Jeff, you are mistaken.
I can delete apps from the cloud on my 8.9. I had been able to on the 7 too.

Right not books.

Yes, releases for "bug fixes and performance improvements" almost always include behavior changes that Amazon doesn't tell us about. I'm hoping some of the keyboard settings (like turning off predictive text) that don't work were fixed, etc.

it's been working for me all along

It stopped working for me at 7.2.2 with the new Swype keyboard (which I mostly like otherwise). I'll try again.

you have long pressed on the space bar and turned off everything under the Keyboard settings?

Yes. A couple of times. Rebooted, too. I'll try again this evening.

Good news! With the new 7.2.3 update turning off predictive text works!

Others also reported this problem with 7.2.2 -

I discovered one new item. You now can test drive many of the apps right on the Kindle.

I just noticed the "Next Up" section in videos has been removed. Now there are recommendations based on what you watched.

I am carrying my Kindle HD Fire around the world and really hope this update improves the OS. When it works, terrific product and invaluable for internatinoal travel. When it doesn't, which is often one of these many problems flares up: android media process stopped warning, requests to wait or quit, and books I've purchased that appear and then disappear in my Kindle device and cloud lists. I can with the slowness of the device but I wish the Kindle Fire was more stable and not so beta-feeling. Maybe this update will improve things.

Same problem here. It started 3 days ago, I receive the message "the process has stopped kindle fire" dozens of times a day.
