R. Baucum says:
A friend of mine just received an email from Amazon, offering them $75 off a Paperwhite. It is disappointing that I have ordered 3 Paperwhites (one just last week) and that offer is not available for me. I understand it's a marketing thing, but I am still disappointed that a a strong customer, I don't get to receive that option.

I own 19 Kindles and I didn't get that offer either.

You'll get others.

Dog Lover says:
Well, the standard paperwhite (no 3G) is only $99 at the moment and the Basic Kindle is only $49.

If the paperwhite didn't use a touchscreen, I'd be all over that price!!

I am disappointed that JCPenneys and Macy's offers additional discounts to people who have their credit card. I want that discount too without having another credit card.

Most of the time (although I'm not sure about this time) Amazon sends those kind of offers to people who buy lots of paper books, but who don't own a Kindle yet. They're trying to bring people into the Kindle eco system.

**hangs head**

What can I say. The tremors play holy he** with using a touchscreen.

This.

Why would Amazon lower the price of a Kindle for customers who have demonstrated the willingness to buy them at full price?

Artist says:
DL, I use a stylus on my Fire. Of course, that wouldn't be too convenient if I'm lying in bed reading with one hand like I do on my KK.

Quit whining. While I wish I had received that offer (I have purchased 6 Kindles), I'm happy for anybody who did receive one.

In reply to an earlier post on Apr 28, 2014, 10:03:03 AM PDT
Really? You didn't get the one offer, you talked to CS, and they gave you $75 towards a new Kindle.

And you're still whining?

Wow.

Just Peachy says:
Wait...you got a $75 credit on your account and you are still not happy???
WHAT??!?!?

In reply to an earlier post on Apr 28, 2014, 10:10:24 AM PDT
Yeah, I think it's pretty much random luck-of-the-draw.

In reply to an earlier post on Apr 28, 2014, 10:11:44 AM PDT
Wasn't the $19 like a "lightning deal" or something? You had a tiny time window to jump on it, I think. You snooze, you lose kind of thing.

King Al says:
She's not happy because she would have to pay $24 ($99 - $75) instead of $19...

In reply to an earlier post on Apr 28, 2014, 10:12:11 AM PDT
Also, you do realize that Amazon doesn't make offers to people based on family status. That is a silly accusation. Amazon isn't some little family owned store.

Artist says:
WTF? The promotion was for $75 off of a Paperwhite and $50 off of the basic Kindle. Why should they also allow you to buy a basic for $19 when they've given you a $75 promotional credit?

You win the prize, lady, for the most ungrateful, entitled person who has ever posted on this forum!

Edited for typo (I was astounded)

Dang I was robbed! LOL, I didn't even think that was real, but I've bought 3 dx's, a k2, and a fire, not to mention my book cost. I didn't get one either. I'd just complain it was too small anyway.

I am sad and disappointed also. I have purchased several Kindles but gifted all but one which was recently damaged in an unfortunate, catastrophic luggage-related incident.

I emailed Customer Service and asked that I be included in the latest promotion. My email must be broken, because I have not yet received a reply. It's been seven minutes.

What is wrong with these people?!?!?!?!?!?!???!!!!?????

In reply to an earlier post on Apr 28, 2014, 10:29:12 AM PDT
Seriously? 7 minutes?
