I like the Amish mysteries by Paul Gaus:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_0_10?url=search-alias%3Ddigital-text&field-keywords=pl+gaus&sprefix=p.+l.+gaus%2Caps%2C145&rh=n%3A133140011%2Ck%3Apl+gaus

He is from Amish country here in Ohio and the books are very authentic.

I liked it. I'm not crazy about the actor who played Tomasetti but it's a good movie.

I'm reading the first book in the series and liking it. Thanks for the recommendation. Any other good mystery/suspense that you know of (doesn't have to be Amish) I would appreciate the names. Thanks again.

Probably way off the beaten path here, but there is mystery and suspense, and Amish. (and yeah, also vampires) But these are so good/fun, and came close enough to the description, I couldn't resist recommending them.

The Hallowed Ones
The Outside (Hallowed Ones)

Linda Castillo has an excellent mystery/suspense series. There are 5 in the series, 6th coming out soon. Here is the first one: Sworn to Silence (Kate Burkholder)
