Each month Amazon Publishing editors will choose 4 books that are due to release in the following month and offer them up for early purchase for $1.99. For Prime members the selected book will be free. You can only get 1 of the 4 that are offered. They are not loans, they are full purchases.

I just got my first pre-pub release through this program. Thanks for alerting me to it. Getting more and more out of my Prime membership every day.

More free stuff? How does Amazon do it?

Thanks, Thomas for another great way to find new books at discount prices. There's also a link to sign up for monthly email alerts, which I've done.

They hope that for every free thing we get, we also buy a dozen other things. :)

I've read J.R. Rain and he's quite good. Just because you haven't heard of someone doesn't make them automatically bad.

Look at this as an opportunity to step outside the box with the safety of not having to pay for it.

And they're right.

^ That's just what I did. Never heard of JR Rain, but I saw enough to capture my curiosity.

Ironically, after I downloaded the book I was given a link to share on Facebook that I'd just donated via https://smile.amazon.com. 0.5% of $0.00 isn't much of a donation.

I'm pretty sure these are publisher "picks" and I love finding my next great author through these types of incentives. Scoff if you like but no other online retailer comes close to doing what Amazon does. They hope you'll purchase more, sure, but I'd buy an new author's books if I liked a book of theirs I got to buy - for FREE!
