Is the instant streaming via the Prime membership per device? In other words, if I buy 2 Fires, do you need 2 Prime memberships in order to have instant streaming to both devices?

♥ Ann says:
You can stream to multiple devices, but only to two at the same time.

Q says:
And note that Prime instant streaming is *only* available to the Amazon acct holder who is the primary Prime member (not others who have joined that membership, termed "guests" by Amazon). Multiple devices that are registered to that primary Prime member's acct will also be able to stream the free videos.

There is some discussion in another thread about how many devices can stream a video at the same time. Some say one. Some say two and another says three.

Ann's helpful link makes it very clear (up to two at once):
"Video limitations: If you are an active Prime member, you can watch a Prime instant video as many times as you would like; however, you may only simultaneously watch two videos from the same account. "

I'm getting confusing and conflicting information, so could use some help. I have Prime unlimited, and am wondering how many devices can run on my account at a time. To avoid getting repeat vague answers, let me clarify my question: Let's say I'm on my iPad and wanna watch Downton Abbey, my son is on his Mac and wants to watch Grimm, and my daughter is on the iPod and wants to watch a cartoon. Can we all watch our different shows, but be logged in simultaneously and watch our shows? I'm hoping for a solid answer, thanks. :)

Two of you will be able to watch.

No, only two of you can be streaming at a time.

FYI, it's Amazon Prime. There is no program called Prime Unlimited. There is a book borrowing program called Kindle Unlimited but it has nothing to do with streaming videos.

J. True says:
There is no such thing as Prime unlimited. There is Amazon Prime for $99/year, which includes free shipping from Amazon, streaming videos, and the Kindle Owners Lending Library, and there is Kindle Unlimited which is $9.99/month and allows for the borrowing of Kindle books.

With Amazon Prime, you can stream to a maximum of two devices simultaneously.

If I purchase a movie on my laptop ~ can I still stream to 2 devices or is the laptop considered 1 of the 2. I want to be able to stream to my ipad and my phone.

The point of purchase doesn't matter.
