Good morning - new to Kindle and tablets (yes, I'm old... lol). How do I increase the font size when viewing a web page like Facebook? Old eyes, you know! Thanks.

I'm also new and having the same problem. I've somehow managed to shrink the Words with Friends game board and can't get it back to regular size. Also, when trying to play the game, the tiles won't stay where I want them to. Does anybody have a suggestion.

I can't get the font on Facebook to enlarge, no matter what I do. Normally, you use your thumb and forefinger in a pinch type hold, put them on the screen, and spread them apart. To make smaller again, pinch together. You end up with a page that is larger than the screen, and can drag it around. It works everywhere but Facebook.

There's a button at the bottom of the web browser screen that looks like a piece of paper with three lines on it. Press that, then press the Settings button at the right. Change the text size to large. This works in Facebook also, which is just a web page formatted for mobile.

Donald, I tried that. Facebook doesn't change, even with the largest choice.

Does not work for me. I selected the "large" and then the "huge" setting and it looks the same, no change.

On facebook page, select the menu item that looks like a piece of paper, choose settings, choose default zoom, choose close. Much bigger text.

Ah, there it is. It would be nice if pinch to zoom worked, but at least this does.

Amelio, you're right. I had tried both settings but listed the wrong one. Sorry about that.

This worked great for me. Thank you.

Easy way to do this... take your thumb and index finger and pinch or expand according to your preference.

Zooming will not work on mobile pages, only desktop web pages work. For example, you can zoom in but not

I am having the same problem with WWF--those tiles have a mind of their own.

I hope we can find a solution for this

Thanks Donald, I did find that, but even changing it to the HUGE font setting is hard to read for someone with vision problems. Many people are buying the kindle specifically for the ability to change font for low vision people. There doesn't seem to be much difference in the normal and huge font ..not enough to make a difference.

not sure if KF has the ability to do this...but changing the background to black and the font to white really helps me see it better.
I cant recall if it is my Nook I do that with or the KF (I have both) and I dont have either one here with me to check.

Hope this might help...:)

I'm having the same problem exactly. Odd thing is that it worked for the first couple days I had it and no longer does.

I'm confused because pinch zoom works with Facebook on my phone.

I have a new Kindle Fire 8.9 and the options to enlarge the font aren't available to me in facebook! Menu>settings>General Setting I can turn on/off chat, refresh, locations, sync photos, >Notification Settinds I can Activate notiications, vibrate, ringtone etc. In ebay there isn't even a kindle menu!

I would appreciate any help...

Judith - I use the "desktop" version of Facebook on my Kindle Fire HD 8.9 otherwise the font on FB is too tiny to even read. It defaults to the mobile version otherwise. To set that, while on your FB home page, scroll all the way down left margin and you will see something about view as "Desktop Site" ... select that and then bookmark, so it will save that way. The font is big enough then to read and you can pinch bigger or small. Hope that helps!! I haven't used it with ebay ...

The websites worth trying are - tablet version. - mobile version.

I think a double tap on the website increases the font size (or at least it should, most browser support it, not sure if Silk does).

I can not get the desktop site to show up on the Kindle Fire HD 8.9. I went to Staples yesterday where I bought the Kindle and they say it is impossibe. I tried to follow your directions above by not able to see this view.
