I've read all the instructions, watched videos, etc. I'm doing it correctly. WiFi on, choose my wireless network, but it doesn't give me an option to type in the password. It pops up and gives me the choice of cancel, forget or connect. No matter how I do it, it doesn't give me the option of entering the needed password. Help?

Choose connect.

Two questions. One, what happens when you choose 'Connect' and are you sure you HAVE a password set up on your wi-fi network? Sometimes people set up a wi-fi network but they do not secure it by going in and setting a password. When your Kindle goes out and looks at the wi-fi networks that are within range, it can see whether there is security (a password) set up on the network or not if there isn't I would assume it would not give you an option to put in a password as one isn't needed. I'm curious what it does when you simply choose connect.

When I hit "connect" it tries to authenticate and then fails. Just reset my router and password. It shows my router with security; but when I choose it, it won't give me the option to enter the password.

I understand how to connect, the kindle is just not even presenting me with the option of entering a password.

Sorry, thought you were being a smart ass. Of course I hit connect. The problem is it won't give me the option to enter the password.

The Forget option should only be available when it is connected. Has it been connected to any network before?

If Forget is still there, select that, reset the router by unplugging it for a minute or two, plug it back in and then reboot the Kindle.
