I have 3 Kindles and the first one I bought 1 1/2 years ago is froze up and will not work. The battery is powered up. I was tring to move a book from the archives when it froze up on me. Any suggestions?

Just Peachy says:
Have you tried a hard restart? Hold the power button for 20 seconds and give it time to reboot.

Have you rebooted it?

Unplug it from everything, and remove it from a hinged cover if it's in one. Hold the power button to the right for 30 seconds, and let it run through its reboot process. This will take several minutes.

Let us know if that does the trick...

Yes!! It worked! My Kindle was totally frozen previously. Thank you.

The hard restart worked for me, and I had the same problem.
But - I wondered how you move a book from the Kindle spot on my P.C. to my actual Kindle. Can you help me?

It depends, Sandra. If you downloaded it to your Kindle for PC app, then you can't just move it across, because the files are coded to each individual kindle device or app. If you downloaded using the "transfer via usb" option, then it's just a case of hooking up the kindle via usb cord, then dragging and dropping the file from where it's saved on the PC to the documents folder of your kindle (which will show up just like a thumb drive does).
