My Kindle Fire is not working. It will not allow me to power it on or off, and it has a full charge on the battery.

Try performing a hard reset on your Kindle Fire. Unplug the Fire from all power sources and then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds and then release. After the device has completely turned off, press the power button to restart your Kindle Fire.

This worked great for my kindle! It wouldn't power on or off either? Why did it do this? Do I need to worry about something being wrong with it? My warranty is almost up.

All types of Kindles are computers. Very limited computers but still computers. Just like a regular computer can lock up and need a reboot so can a Kindle. It doesn't mean that it's defective.

What can I do if this doesn't work? I have not used my Kindle in several months, and the reboot does nothing.

My kindle turns on with the unlock arrow and date etc, but when I swipe it to unlock it, it does not come on? What is going on? Just noticed previous answer. I shut it down and turned it back on and it is working. Yea!

Try rebooting it as described previously in this thread.

My Kindle Fire has completely stopped, I've tried the 20 Second hold power button down, Even tried it with other power cables. It just won't work.

Time to contact Kindle support. They will troubleshoot, without charge, even out of warranty devices.

Click on help at the top or bottom of any Amazon page. Click on the contact us button on the right of the next page. Answer the questions and the correct contact info is shown. I suggest using the phone for quickest response.

Is there any trick to get the Kindle Fire Hd to work in the Kindle case. It works when out of the case but it is hit or miss when in the case. Anything we are doing wrong?

Did you come by just to tell us, Steve? You didn't ask a question, but may I suggest that you troubleshoot with Kindle customer service, like suggested earlier? Start with the help link at the top of this page.

Kindle Fire D01400 suddenly died. I've tried everything from changing charging cables to rebooting with holding power button 20 sec and longer. HELP!

T. Cannon says:
I'm just guessing here but many things that you do with the Fire require wifi. If you are away from home, where I presume that you have wifi, you will need to either find some place with wifi or else the functions that require it won't work. If I have guessed wrong maybe you could give some more details.
