Now a Texan says:
How do I reset my Paperwhite to factory specifications? For some reason, all my collections and contents from my KK have appeared on my Paperwhite. I don't want them there. There are too many and they caused the KK to become very sluggish. Can someone help me clean this up? Thank you.

Love Comedies - I don't think that will help. That's how the Cloud Collections work now.

Menu > Settings > Menu (again) > Reset Device.

Nothing on your Paperwhite would affect your KK's performance. It may have too many books on it. Does it have more than 400 books?

I have 1300 books in the cloud. I cleaned them off my KK and gave it to my adult son. Its my Paperwhite that worries me. When I bought the Paperwhite, I only moved books from four of my favorite authors. All other books stayed in the Cloud. But now they have appeared on the Paperwhite.

They probably didn't appear on your Paperwhite. What did appear is a link/list of the books which shouldn't affect the Paperwhite. The books, themselves, have not downloaded to your Paperwhite.

OK. I see all my collections listed "On Device" in bold print. When I open it, all the titles I have put there are grayed out...I presume to remind me what I CAN download if I want to. Whew. Thank you.
