Kindle fire unresponsive

My kindle fire is all of a sudden not working at all. I have charged it. It was fine a couple of days ago. The light does not even come on. What could have happened? I have not dropped it or anything.

Patricia - Try rebooting it.

TO REBOOT YOUR KINDLE FIRE:
Make sure it's fully charged. Unplug the Fire.
Hold the power button in for a full 30 seconds (count them).
Press the power button again to turn it back on.
The "kindle fire" screen will appear for a couple of minutes while it's coming back on.

Patricia - If rebooting didn't work, I'd contact customer support.

You may have to sign in. I would use the PHONE or CHAT options.
Do NOT use e-Mail.
CALL ME under the PHONE tab is great if available.
They will call you within minutes.

My kindle fire HD will turn on but when I try to slide to unlock it is unresponsive. I have tried to reboot it but does not clear the problem. I had to turn the sound off because the tutorial lady come on and I can't get her off. What do I do know. I just got my kindle in December. It was an upgrade from the original Kindle Fire.

Try using two fingers slightly apart. Read something like this last week and it had to do with a setting that had been accidentally changed. I'll look a bit more and see if I can find the post for what you need to check and change back.
