Hi.

I had problem with previous kindle touch and got a replacement.

I charged to full when I got it and left it without using it(used less than an hour) and found my kindle with close to 10 to 20% battery left over after few days.

I thought this was strange and charged again to full battery and left it without using it again (since number of tests and exams were coming up for the class)

My previous kindle touch lasted way longer ( like multiple times).
And this new kindle touch battery discharge rate is too abnormal

Has any one experienced this same problem?

Perhaps you are leaving it connected to wifi....that'd be serious battery drainage.

omg yes i've been having the same issues with my kindle touch and i never have it on wifi practically. so yeah i've been losing a lot of battery life, like i lost 10-20% in like 40 mins, and i wasn't even doing a lot of activity on it, it was in sleep mode w/o wifi. i wonder if amazon is doing this so that we are forced to adopt the new kindle paperwhite?

Get out your tinfoil hat... No, Amazon is not "doing this" to force you to buy a new Kindle. Most of the Kindle devices are sold at or near cost, and any profit Amazon makes is from the content you purchase.

Both of you should check to see if you have anything stuck indexing. That can run the battery way down without you even knowing it.

Books can get stuck indexing in an endless cycle that a user might not even be aware of. To check this go to your home screen and do a search for a nonsense word (example: zxzxddz). It should come back with nothing found and should also list any books indexing.
