Thanks for letting me know, carrimar.

ETA: I see that your location is Illiois -- where is that?

carrimar this is a customer forum so there is nothing we can do here. When you get the new card just update that info under you account page or get the amazon gift cards and use them.

Good luck

You shouldn't have actually *closed* your Amazon account if you have Kindle books on it. Closing the account will cause you to lose access to all those books. Permanently. Ditto any mp3s or apps you've purchased.

What you *should* have done was left the account open and deleted the card info and then entered the new info when you got the new card.

Edited: unless you mean you closed the credit card account not your Amazon account. If that's what you meant, then never mind (in best Emily Litella voice).

I figured she meant that credit card account number.

What does this have to do with Kindles?

carrimar isn't even tracking the thread, so I guess his/her intent was simply to inform random customers of his/her actions. How exciting!

When people do reply to "Huh? responses, so often it's something explainable. It's often still silly or wrong, but there's a "Ahah!" moment. "So that's why they posted that!"

I'm wondering if in this case, the OP got one of those emails, or looked at some part of her Amazon account where it told her, "Your method of payment is invalid," or something. I got that when a cc had expired.

So I further wonder if she thought she need to notify someone, and if the notice generated was related to Kindle books somehow, maybe she thought here was the place to do that.

I dunno.

Why do you and I figure the OP is female and Blonde? I'm guessing Blonde, original or chosen.
