After I signed in to my email account using the web app, my Kindle now remembers my username and password. Anyone who might look at my Kindle can automatically access my email account. How do I stop my Kindle from automatically populating my username and password when I go to my email account through the web? By the way, I did not add my account to the Kindle. This is strictly through the web app.

there's a place in your web settings to turn it off - while on a web page, click the 3 bars and it's in the menu there somewhere

CBRetriever told you where. Did you try following the instructions in the post you're replying to?

Darn, I was hoping for a place to get a drink. Guess it's not that kind of bar.

This sounds like it would be the fix for this, but it is not. I have save passwords set to off, but it still showed my password in the mail program and in key password enabled web sites I visit.

I deleted my mail account from the kindle because of this.
An annoyance, making the device less functional.

The all-around, password protecting the device itself is not so useful to me because I want to be able to hand it off to my child to use other things but not access access my password protected website and mail.

Apple can figure this out why not Kindle?

Firstly...look at the dates of the posts in this thread.

Secondly, email apps on tablet devices all work this way. If you share a tablet with other users, don't use the email app. Access your email through a browser via web mail. Set the browser to not remember passwords, and always log off when you're done using the email site.

I have an iPad...explain how their email app works differently?

You not only have to turn of the save passwords, you also need to delete the passwords already saved. Touch the three bars and then go to settings.
