Bringing the keyboard up on the Kindle Fire

I play KillerSudokuOnline.
The Kindle does not recognize that their online game requires text entry in the blocks, so the keyboard doesn't come up.

Sometimes when the game has an on-going discussion in a box to the side, I can click on it and bring up the keyboard and make my number entries in the sudoku blocks, but they do not always have the discussion box on the page. I'd like to bring the keyboard up manually, but I can't find anywhere to do that.

I'm not sure there is a way.

I just tried that site in 3 different browsers with varying settings on my Fire (Silk, Dolphin HD & Maxthon). My netbook under Windows lets me play the page. The Android OS on the Fire does not.

Others have said several online game sites like this one and on Yahoo and Facebook do not work on the Fire.

This may be an Android limitation.

Anyone else with a different Android device able to play Sudoku on this site? Is this Android or the Fire's modified OS causing this?

A. Dietz says:
Are you using the built-in Silk browser on your Fire? (The one you get when you tab "Web" on your home page.) Have you tried Opera Mobile Web Browser or Dolphin Browser HD to see if a different web browser would help?

I have not tried a different browser.

I don't even know how to use a different browser.

Yep. Tried it with Dolphin HD and Maxthon on the Fire. Neither works either. I wonder if it is an Android issue.

Thanks for trying.
I guess I'm limited to just doing the Archive games where they have that discussion box next to the online puzzle.

I wish the Kindle let us bring the keyboard up on the page at any time...

I have this issue with gmail in silk. I can fill in the "to" and "subject" lines, but the keyboard will not appear when I click on the message content area. Very frustrating!

peipey,
I see what you mean. That keyboard doesn't want to come up when I tap on the reply area!

Here is one solution:
* From the Inbox, scroll to the bottom middle and select "Desktop"
* Now when you select an email to reply to, the reply area gives you the keyboard to type on!

boy oh boy! Tried the above and gmail started to download and then comes the error after about 3 or 4 minutes telling me that "you can't do that". Will one of the different browsers work?

G. Herbert says:
You can solve the problem with gmail by switching to plain text. However this does not work for html pages.
