For Mother's Day, to be used only for reading, do you recommend the Paperweight of the Fire? Which is the best reading experience? Will be used for Wi-Fi only. Thank you.

Paperwhite for sure.

The paperwhite is best for reading, but they both make good paper weights. :)

Hands down, the Paperwhite. It is a dedicated e-reader, great for reading in all lighting situations, from total darkness to bright sunshine.

Fires are multi-use tablets. They are much heavier, not good for use outside, and while they can be used for reading, it is not nearly as good of an experience.

Absolutely the Paperwhite. I have both, and I do not like reading on the Fire. Reading on the Paperwhite is a better experience than reading a traditional book IMHO.

Make sure to get an auto on/off cover for it, too.

What's funny is that I bet there's a percentage of the population that doesn't even realize that "weight" and "white" are two different words.

Yes, very sadly funny.

I am hoping that it was an autocorrect thing.

Twice? [sigh] I guess it could have been.

I thought, based on the title, they were debating using their Kindle as a paperweight or tossing it in the fire...

I had to add Paperwhite to my Fire's dictionary.

Oh, the irony!
