Good morning LoB
Happy Flag day to all Americans.
It seems that the United States Army celebrates its birthday today too.

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 13, 2013, 10:59:26 PM PDT
Flags will be out all over the US today redandwhite. The Main Street into the community where I live always lines the center median with flags and its so beautiful. I dint realize that it was also the Army's birthday, but it seems fitting that their birthday is on Flag Day.

Your Sweet Spot yesterday sounds wonderful. I hope you have a good day today with a special lunch menu.

Sounds like a lovely tradition you have going there, I will also be interested to hear how the other posters celebrate the day and if any of them get to have the day off work (seems some do)
Friday's for me are a mixture of really great, lots of nice food, starting with a morning "meeting" which is actually more an excuse to eat breakfast together and chat :-) and of course our lovely lunches, and 1 hour shorter working day than the rest of the week (quite normal here) and then two days off .... but they can also be frenetic fridays too, somehow all the clients suddenly remember that it is the end of the week and there is something that they just have to have from us and now, so I don't actually end up leaving that one hour early after all, but I will be positive minded that today will be an easy going friday for me

Thanks for starting us. Your flag looks great. I'm gonna try to be around for a bit tomorrow. :) Have a good night.

I do hope that you remember that you need to rest once in a while - even though you are hosting today - we want you to get rid of that nasty cough you know, you never said if the peppermint oil had helped you, only that it had helped Rick :-)

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 14, 2013, 1:27:28 AM PDT
Hi redandwhite, the peppermint oil did help. I don't know why I didn't think about it before Chris recommended peppermint.

I am going to bed soon. My Links Only open has just been up for an hour so I am breathing a bit easier. I'll give it a few more minutes and then I think I'll head up to get some sleep.

I hope your breakfast was a good one. It hope the clients go easy on you today so you get to leave on time. ;-)

Good morning ★ afternoon ★ evening everyone! A couple of Free books to begin the day . . .

America Rising - Mystery

When an old friend of Josh Henson's is found beaten to death in the parking garage of the San Francisco radio station where he works, the former newspaper reporter turned Internet investigator is drawn from his home in the bucolic Florida Keys into a world of political maneuvering, intimidation and assassination, all parts of a battle not only for control of the country but for its very soul.

In a novel that anticipated the Occupy and Move Your Money movements, Henson begins covering a campaign to take back America from the corporate and political elites that have hijacked it for their own purposes and profit. As he does, he is drawn into another battle, this one fought quietly and without quarter by a shadowy group of men and women who bring their own "particular set of skills" to bear against forces that will stop at nothing in defense of wealth and power.

Seduction of the Scepter - Historical Fiction

At her sister's wedding feast, young Lara Basmajinik shares a single dance with handsome Prince Kaz. Beautiful, intelligent and born into a prominent ruling family, Lara seems the perfect match for this prince and future king. But when Kaz is accused of murder and imprisoned for life, Lara marries Jaederion, his feeble-minded younger brother.

Now Lara reigns as queen, and she must at last decide where her loyalties lie: with the only man she has ever loved, with the political needs of the nation, or with her own increasing thirst for power.

A Game of Proof (The trials of Sarah Newby) by Tim Vicary

A mother's worst nightmare - can her son be guilty of murder?

Sarah Newby, who left school at 15, and was living as a teenage single parent on an inner-city estate, has worked her way up to begin a career as a criminal barrister. But what should she do when her own son, Simon, is arrested and charged with a series of brutal rapes and murders?

Has Sarah, in her single-minded determination to create a career for herself, neglected her son so much that she no longer knows him? He has often lied to her in the past, so how can she trust him when he says he is innocent this time? And what should she do when she herself uncovers evidence that seems to suggest his guilt?

Should she help the police and protect the public? Or risk her career to save her son?

Love is Forever by Massimo Marino "Who doesn't wish for the miracle of love to last forever? Wouldn't you halt the flow of time to suspend that warm feeling so that it cannot fade, never to be betrayed by the weight of the years and the tiredness? Wouldn't you gift everyone with that?

´¯`°¤.¸.¤.¸.¤°´¯` FRIDAY QUESTION´¯`°¤.¸.¤.¸.¤°´¯`

What kind of Jewelry Person are you?? ( Men can answer too!)

Is there jewelry you wear and never take off? Maybe you wear distinctive, handmade jewelry, something different each day, depending on what clothes you have on? Do you only wear jewelry for dressy occasions and that's the only time you ever shop for it?

Here's the true test: I'm giving you $100.00 to spend on new summer jewelry or summer Bestselling books.......which would you choose??

Books, definitely! The only jewelry I consistently wear is a Mother's ring, and my wedding band & engagement ring. I wear earrings on special occasions, and occasionally a necklace and/or bracelet. I have a couple of watches that I wear sporadically.

Thanks for the start, LOB!

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 14, 2013, 7:04:42 AM PDT
Jewelry? Did someone say jewelry? Always wearing jewlery. Most I wear every day, with some more special pieces for dressy occasions. I have a bracelet that I collect charms from my travels, and I always wear that bracelet to work to remind me of not being at work :)
And I've already spent that $100 dollars, Suze - new bracelet and earrings!

Good morning!
Thanks LOB for the start.

Question of the day: only wear my engagement/wedding ring. For special occasions I will wear some jewelry that I already own. I like to buy the occasional flashy piece of custom jewelry to complement a special outfit, but very rarely shop for "real" jewelry. Even though I have my ears pierced, I hate wearing earrings, so almost never do. Would definitely spend the $100 on books!

I'm just a stodgy old guy... I've got my wedding band, a heavy silver bracelet, and neck chain that my wife gave me. I used to wear a wristwatch, always something heavy duty/rugged, and that's about it. It is all I intend to wear.

When I was playing wock'n'woll back in the 80's, I did have an ear ring for a while. A friend of mine's 1 year old liked the little red-eyed skull and crossbones, and yanked it out of my ear, splitting the lobe in half. No more ear rings ever for me. :)

For all those who attended the front porch book discussion last night....I found several shoes - none of them mates and a couple of light sweaters lying around, and a slightly bashed hockey stick in the umbrella stand. Also noticed one of the ceiling fans was leaning slightly right...what happens on the front porch, stays on the front porch. But the items in question are in a box in the corner for you to retrieve. Oh, and Suze? The margarita machine rental expires tomorrow, so be sure and get it back and collect the deposit, okay?
