Hi, Does anybody know the wi-fi range when using at McDonalds? Can I use it from my car?

Go and try it and see. BTW, you need only ask once. Two threads aren't necessary.

How can anyone here possibly tell you that? Drive over there and try for yourself. If you park on the side of the building where the router is, you may be able to pick up the signal in the parking lot. Depends on numerous factors, not the least of which is how close you can get to the building.

It depends on the McDonald's. And never do financial transactions on a public wifi.

It would be polite to at least buy a soda.

It can be as much as half a block, however, they can set the range manually to be less than maximum.
Also, wifi blocking wallpaper exists, so if companies start using it, you may not get access outside of the building.

And who doesn't like a delicious ice cream cone once in a while?

T. Cannon says:
The one in my neighborhood let me log in from the parking lot. I had used it before and not told the Fire to forget it. A few weeks later I was in the parking lot waiting to meet someone and fired up the Fire to do some reading. A pop-up told me that I had to sign into the Internet to use it and asked if I wanted to open a browser window. I was so suprised at the offer that I tried it and had a pretty good signal. Three or four parking lot rows from the front door. YRMV.

Well, I do enjoy a delicious ice cream cone....which is why I get the parfait at McDonalds! <grin> But hey, they have a great side salad for a dollar. I often get those and bring them home and add an egg and some chicken and it makes a good meal.
