I know how to change the time (restart / sync etc) as it has worked in the past. However my Kindle DX hasn't changed yet to meet the daylight saving time in Australia. Any other Aussie Kindle DXers have the same problem or did your automatically change?

For my K2, I just have to connect it to wireless for about an hour, and it changes itself. I'm in the US, but a cell tower is a cell tower, and that's where we get our info on the K2 and the DX.

Yep - I've tried leaving the wireless on overnight & during the day - still no change. Have even let the battery die right down and charged it back up again. In the past it's changed within a few days but this is going on for a month so I'm wondering if it's an Australian issue.

The US has daylight savings time on Sunday, so it may fix itself in about two days (if the Kindle thinks the time change is supposed to occur on the US day). I just changed the time on my Kindle by going to Menu > Settings; page down > Set Device Time.

Hi Matt - that's an interesting observation! - will check on Sunday (our Monday) to see if it does change. I'm pretty sure that the DX model doesn't have the option to Set Device Time but will check it out tonight when I go home.

A. says:
People with a WiFi-only K3 (or K4, presumably) must set the time manually. People with a WiFi-and-3G K3 (or K4, presumably) can choose between using the automatic time from the cell phone towers (the default) or setting the time manually. See http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=125460

Unfortunately, that manual time-setting is not an option on the 3G-only K1, K2, or DX. They can only use the time they get from the cell phone towers. Turning wireless off, restarting, turning wireless back on, and syncing, is all you can do to request a time update. The time comes entirely from your local cell phone towers, it's not modified in the Kindle by daylight-savings-time logic (otherwise the cell phone towers would be sending the wrong in-need-of-modification time to people's cell phones that don't have that logic, for months every year). Perhaps your local cell tower (Vodafone?) is having a technical glitch with not updating the time it's broadcasting.

Yes, I just noticed that the Time is set for Queensland (Standard Eastern Australian Time), pity but I live in New South Wales, which does have Summer Time, even though both States are on Eastern Australia.
