For the second time in 2 months, I've gone to pre-order a new book release only to find it is not showing up on as available in Kindle format. But it is available as a NOOK Book. The first time both I and the author complained...it wasn't a publisher problem...whoever was collecting the book on the Kindle side seemed to have missed adding it to the inventory...even though the author's other books were there. This time I don't what the holdup is...the book is a Hatchette imprint (Jill Shalvis' new release) so it may be more publisher games... Guess I will either have to wait for a delayed Kindle release or go to my local bookstore and buy it in paper it I want it on Tuesday.

hachette and amazon are in a big dispute right now, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's related to that....

There are no preorders on Hatchette books right now. See the posts at the top of this forum by Amazon.

Just because it isn't available for pre-order doesn't mean it won't be available on release date. Until the negotiations between Amazon and Hatchette are worked out pre-orders will not be available.

Pre-orders of Hatchette books are not available right now, but on release day the kindle version is available.....Amazon takes orders for both kindle and DTB on release day, just not pre-orders.

Not being able to pre-order kindle books has been no big deal to me, what with that 30 second delivery window upon order on release day :)

Pfft, 3 months? And on a preorder you can't even actually get! I've been waiting 4 years for cj cherryh's Foreigner series to be complete. LOL One to go.

Couldn't you just put the book's link on your calendar and click on it on release day?

Oh come on. Who wants to look after themselves?

That's just crazy talk.
