WHY am I constantly being directed to this new Prime Unlimited? I only want my FREE one book a month... I have been unable to navigate to the "free" books, and if I do find a book, it wants me to sign up for $9.99 a month...

Just push the borrow button from your Kindle just like it has always been.

I have a 3 yr old Kindle Fire... I don't see any borrow button on the books I get to..... I go thru this every couple of months trying to "borrow'....

Are you using the web tab to try to borrow a book from the Lending Library? You can't do it that way. You have to use the books tab, then use the link to the store in the upper right corner.

I am having the same issue. I have the new Kindle Fire HDX 7". There is an option once I click on the "Books" tab to go directly to the Lending Library. But, now all of those books say "KindleUnlimited" and won't let me borrow them. Instead, it directs me to a page to subscribe to Kindle Unlimited. Did Kindle Unlimited replace the Lending Library? Did we lose our once a month loans?

On the Kindle Keyboard 3rd gen, the "borrow" button is missing, so I can't borrow either. My only options are to buy or join Kindle Unlimited.

Did you already borrow a book in July? I just borrowed my July book yesterday, and I clicked the Borrow for Free button. It automatically detected that I had Prime.

Prime is still working!

They're all still there. Follow this search process:

Toggle to Kindle Store. Go.
Click Kindle E-books.
Type into search window the words: prime eligible.
Go.

THOSE results *ARE* in fact KOLL books; they just don't show the banner on that list view. PICK A BOOK, and you'll see on the product page that it will have the Prime logo.

Now. If you have ALREADY BORROWED for July, when you look at a Prime book on your Kindle, you WON'T see the Borrow For Free button ... not until August 1.

But you can still BROWSE the KOLL books *here online* and add to your borrow Wish List by following the steps above.

if you have borrowed for July clicking the borrow for free will bring you to the KU page to sign up. If you have not gotten your July KOLL and are not a member of KU and you press on borrow for free you will either be prompted to return your prior KOLL borrow (like I was) or to depress click to download.

in the store ON THE DEVICE, from the books tab (on fires) if you scroll down on the right side there is a link to Kindle Owner's Lending Library still there for you.

I just got a book from KOLL the same way I always have, and other than the few words under the title indicating that the book was available for KU there was no other mention of it.

I usually rely on the "monthly limit reached" button to remind me if I borrowed a book in the current month, but this time the button did not appear. The absence of that button is what had me confused. Hopefully it will reappear next month.

***** You got it right - I was searching web NOT Books. This just worked. THANK YOU... I was so frustrated. Hopefully I will remember this next month!! :-) ****

Use the Books tab instead of the Silk browser. Borrow button is still there, or at least it was two days ago.

You're welcome.

It seems that identification of Kindle Prime Library books has become much more cumbersome. Is this intentional? I can understand displaying the Kindle Unlimited option on the book page, but why remove the "$0.00 Read for Free" indicator that was displayed and easily recognizable before? Isn't the Kindle Owners Library one of the features that attract readers to Prime membership? And to Amazon?

While I agree it would be nice to know which eBooks are on the KOLL - I can't see the Prime logo unless I am logged out of my account, since I got KU, I do not think borrowing 1 eBook a month is the attraction to Prime or to Amazon - there are other better benefits to attract to Prime and/or Amazon.

Same issue with me. I thought I was borrowing a book this month but actually was charged for it. There is no longer a borrow button, only prime unlimited which it asks me to join.
