I have been given a Kindle paper white as a gift. I have WIFI, so it has connected automatically to it. The person who give it to me says that it is 3G enabled but I can't see anything on the Kindle to support this. How do I find out?

Open the Settings menu and check the Device information.

Edit: From the Home screen, press on Menu then Settings then Menu again and then Device Info.

I read the answer and it didn't help.
I ordered and paid for a 3G enable kindle and it only says wifi enable on the device info screen.

Can you help

Other customers can't help you to get what you ordered. Call kindle customer service.

I wondered if this was 3G or 4G enabled. It is the Fire HD 6. I don't think it has 3G or 4G. I went to Device Options and there is nothing there. I then went to HELP then Manual then Connect wirelessly, then Connect To A Mobile Network, but it ignores this and goes to the Airplane Mode option above that choice. So all this does is WiFi and only if you are near a signal.

Yes, the Fire HD 6 is a wifi-only device. The product page is helpful - Fire HD 6, 6" HD Display, Wi-Fi, 8 GB - Includes Special Offers, Black

Huh.. Its your Kindle, what did you think when you bought it ?
Since there isn't a 3g/4g wireless cellular model for the HD 6.

I have both a 3G and a Wifi only Paperwhite and when I use them at home I never see any difference. If they're near my router, which they are at home, they use Wifi.

If I'm away from the house, out of range of the router, then the difference is plain. If I try to browse the bookstore or my library with the 3G version it works just as though I were at home. A little slower but not much. It's essentially the same except that it says 3G at the top when I connect.

If I try to use the Wifi version away from my router it simply doesn't connect.

Amazon has made all this transparent to the user. You just use it. If it's 3G it always connects, using Wifi if it can and 3G if no Wifi is available.
