You can use the Amazon Uploader to send unprotected mp3 iTunes files to the Amazon Cloud for downloading on your Fire:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/?nodeId=200593730

Or you can transfer the files via USB:

Yes, but there is no iTunes app for Android, which is the OS the Kindle Fire uses.

The question was about Kindle Fire, though, not a PC.

Megan, I'll call your post incorrect, since you didn't read the original poster's question, which T. Cook was answering.

so the products that claim to convert your iTunes library to Kindle compatible mp3's are all bunk? I need to know before I buy a kindle Fire HD....

I use Itunes on my PC, all my cd's are transferred there. Then I upload them to my Amazon cloud player - then I can download them to my Fires. That sounds more difficult than it is:) As long as the music in your itunes is DRM free this should work.

thanks Laura, that sounds like a good plan. Some of my iTunes library was purchased pre-2009 which is when they stopped the restrictions...I think....not sure what to do about those songs?

google it, there is a way within iTunes to remove the DRM

I have tried so many times it is not funny. I have checked all of the app stores and... NADA! It is just not possible to get itunes on Amazon divides. You can sync music from itunes, but you can't download it.

Did you even bother to read the posts in this thread? It is a well-known fact that iTunes is not available for any non-iPad tablet.

Use the Amazon mp3 downloader to move them from your cloud to the PC, then tell iTunes to import the folders. I transfer music back and forth all the time. It's not difficult.
