I have just bought my first Kindle Fire - An HDX 8.9 - and while no doubt MayDay could answer this question for me, I thought I would ask here: can you put your apps into folders on the Kindle's screen? You don't seem to be able to move them with your finger and hover one over another until it forms a folder or group as I can do with my iPad or Nexus 7. I'm guessing, sadly, that you cannot but would be useful to have this confirmed, either way. I assume there are no apps that facilitiate this easily on the home screen? - I have read the critical reviews of a windows desktop type app that would seem to allow this but as it runs as an app, it has to be opened as an app every time you use your Kindle (if you are wishing to view your apps in folders, I suppose).

Thank you. I am sorry; I obviously overlooked this when posting my query. I will look out for instructions as to how to create my cloud (and synch'd) collections.

you're welcome and good luck figuring it out - I don't have a HDX, so I don't know how to do it

Thanks. I had to call MayDay and oddly enough was told that collections were not yet available in the UK. Amy - but not THE Amy :( - told me that the necessary software upgrade hadn't yet come out in the UK but should do shortly. She said she'd had lots of queries (in the UK I assume) about this. Surprising (at least to me since I assumed that a software upgrade like that would have applied to all HDXs, wherever they are registered). Evidently not.

but it does exist there - here's a link to the site to manually update it on the site

she obviously didn't know what she was talking about and btw, I post in their kindle forums as well, so I know a bit about what is and what isn't available there

Thank you so much for this. I am partly to blame for having mistakenly thought that my Kindle's 14.3.05 software (or something like that) was not behind the 14.3.1 upgrade (helped in this by having clicked the "check updates" and been told that there were none). A little unfortunate, nevertheless, that Amy has quite the wrong information .... Putting apps into collections seems to be very easy.

Looks like you can't have collections showing on your home screen and will only see them as a viewing option when you go into Apps or Books, etc. However, it will still be a very useful feature to have, saving you having to scroll through lots of apps alphabetically.
