I have bought a UK kindle fire but currently live in France. I just wanted to know whether I can keep my UK registration for my kindle (to access more English langauge kindle books) but change the registration to France in order to download music from Amazon.fr (and buy cloud storage space). If I de-register my kindle fire from the UK and re-register it to France, can I then reverse this process at will or is that going to cause problems.

You can't register to UK without having a UK credit card, billing adress and country setting for getting content there. The amount of books available to you in English on .fr is of about 1.3 million.
Deregistering a Fire completely wipes it clean, which means you'd have to re-setup e-mails etc each time.

I don't think you have to deregister and reregister to change the country. You change the country your Amazon account is registered to.

Hi! I just bought a Kindle fire HD 7" ! but I haven't been able to download any apps, the error says that I have geografical restrictions! I'm currently living in Dominican Republic! does that mean I won't be able to use it here?! Can someone help me?

Shigui, first of all in the future please create your own thread, don't hijack someone else's.

As Amazon only sells the Fire in the US and other local Amazon stores, you can currently only buy apps from Amazon when you're a resident in those countries. You can sideload third party apps though, google for information on how to do that.

You also cannot change your address/credit card info back and forth "at will." You might get away with it twice max, but after that Amazon will likely cancel your account and you won't have access to anything.

Sorry! I was just taking advantage of the subjet, one more question: is it safe to sideload third party apps?

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 3, 2012, 8:44:15 AM PST
In general yes, but you're better off making sure you get the apps from reputable sources. The ones most used seem to be getjar and 1mobile.

Man, I wish I could deregister from my country.

Nicky France says:
And do you do this via the 'my location' option on the Kindle Fire itself?

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 3, 2012, 11:35:52 AM PST
Shigui Pena says:
Yes, it says the same thing.
