Me too! Someone from Amazon, please tell us how to import contacts from a vcard file. We have a Kindle Fire HD 8.9.

I too am wondering how to get my contacts onto my kindle fire hd. I am a Mac user and keep all my contacts in the address book. I exported my contacts to a vCard and then e-mailed them to the email address setup on my fire. I opened the attachment and it said it was importing vCard but nothing shows up in my contacts. This procedure worked on a friend's fire 2nd generation but hasn't worked for my fire HD.

I was able to finally import contacts from a vcard file.
1. I used address book on my Mac to export all my contacts to (one) vcard file.
2. I then transferred the file via the usb cable included with my kindle fire HD to the downloads folder on my KF.
3. Using ES File Explorer (3rd party free app), I navigated to the Download folder and tapped on the vcard file I had transferred there.
4. The KF ask me what app to use to open the file and I chose Contacts.
5. I then opened up the Contacts app (it may have opened automatically but I can't remember) and voila, all of my contacts were there.

I had tried the above procedure by e-mailing the vcard file to myself, but when I attempted to open the vcard file I had saved, nothing was there because either my e-mail provider or the kf was stripping the vcard file of all its data (I assume for security reasons).

Good luck.

could you be a little more specific? i am new to kindle and dont understand how to transfer. i had my kindle cabled to imac with the usb that came with it. my mac did not recognize equipment. is it because i am running snow leopard? all the instructions i have found online presume that the device pops up on desktop when plugged in, but it doesn't on mine

I've spent several fruitless hours trying to Import my Thunderbird email Address book to gmail, so I can send emails more easily in my Kindle Fire 7. I finally found a post from someone who'd come to the conclusion that certainly was not easy, and that the gmail advice and program is so complicated that it's not worth messin' with. I successfully did the Address Book Export functions from Thunderbird, but could not fully Import the list to gmail. Anyone got another email program I could use, that could import my Thunderbird Address book? Oh, I just thought of something -- maybe I could buy a Thunderbird program FOR the Kindle; and maybe that would make it possible for me Export from my home computer Thunderbird Ad.Bk, and Import it to the new Kindle Thunderbird email program. I'll check this out. Meanwhile, anyone have any suggestions?
