My Kindle was so quickly loading page after page, but now has suddenly slowed to a crawl, how can we tell when it is time to stop downloading books?
Thanks
Eunice

WHICH Kindle? It has been reported, by some people, that a close to full capacity Kindle will start to slow down. (especially eink kindles)

You can also see if a book is stuck indexing by typing a nonsense word (fgvfgh or something) and so a search. If a book is listed in that search, you can then delete it (remove from device) and try redownloading it. A book "stuck" in indexing can slow your computer down. Also, check your time setting on the device.

Thanks Coleen, for your immediate reply, greatly appreciated! I have the $79 (now $69) Kindle, since 2/12, my first, it has 587 MB free. What a grand purchase!
Again Thank you!

Eunice, have you tried searching for books that might be stuck on indexing?

To do so, on the Home Screen:
To perform a search:
1.Type in some nonsense random letters, such as fgbhd; the Search line will automatically appear.

2.Move the 5-way to the right to the Find (also has a magnifying glass next to it) Click that.

The Kindle may take a few minutes to do the search, and, if any books are found, a list will appear. Any books on that list, if any, should be deleted.

You can re-download the books again.

IF you DO find books "stuck" on indexing, and after deleting them, I suggest do another hard reset (hold on button for 30 seconds, then let the Kindle reboot itself)
