Hi, I am an experienced PC user but have not used smartphones, tablets or and e-readers before and would appreciate help on a couple of issues I am having. First, I started playing around with the Kindle Fire HD and probably made a few mistakes (entries that I shouldn't have made) and wonder if I could RE-SET the Kindle to 'Factory conditions" and start over? Next, is their a BIOS update for the device (being that it was released late last year)? And finally, is their a User's Manual (Guide) that I could read to help me get acquainted with the Kindle Fire HD and if so, can you provide me with a link?
Thanks,
(Kindle newbee) Bob

Thank you for the link Squig, I think that I have enough to get me going.
BTW, does the Kindle Fire 7" HD, 16GB (2012 model) have a BIOS and if so, can it be updated?
Also, can the device be re-set to "original factory settings", if so, how?
Thank you again for your help Squig,
Bob

M. Ratcheson says:
Yes, it can. I believe it is under the Device setting, it is called something close to reset to factory settings.. If I'm mistaken, post again, and I'll dig into mine to provide exact instructions. I believe it will deregister the device, and erase everything on it.

bob - Kindle software updates

Also there should be a Kindle Users Guide on the Kindle itself. If it is not in books, look in Docs

Thanks for your help guys, you really straightened me out and opened up new avenues for me to get in trouble.
I was able to check the software level with the link that Tompkins provided, it was 7.4.6 which is the last version and I was also able to find "Restore To Factory Settings" so I'm all set and have plenty of reading to do with ALL the links that you sent me.
Thanks guys,
Bob
