I was already updated on my Kindle, my iPad however is a total cluster. Seems now I have to go through the Cloud? I have an app KINDLE that I normally click and read my book. Now the icons are there yet when I clock/touch them I get an error message to remove the book from my device and redownload from the cloud, the cloud tells me I don't have any books downloaded. Then is says if problem persists to deregister my app and register it again. I have Kindle on my PC, iPad and iPhone. Not sure where to go from here.

Griffin, have you tried the deregister option or even deleting the app from your i-devices and then redownloading? I had to do that with my Overdrive app after the iOS7 update. Overdrive did not have an update in time for iOS7 and it caused some issues with epubs and audio books. The reinstall worked but I lost my history and had to redownload my epubs and audio books after reinstallation.

thanks. bit my lip, showed no fear and deleted the app's. went to app store, clicked cloud and all sync'd up now. I was just hoping not to have to download the books all over again. Oh well, at least the cloud now had them, was able to download the 2 books I am reading, only 1,786 to go. didn't have the heart (lots of fear though) to degegister anything, glad this did the trick.

Seriously? You want to have 1,786 books on your iPad? Why?

What do you care?

Everything went smooth for me. Knocking on wood. I keep a lot of cookbooks and recipes on my iPad but only the book or series that I'm reading.

Thanks, Debi...
Cookbooks are great on the iPad.
Everything is worked out now, and I only have the books I am reading and the 2 or 3 I am perusing on my iPad. Seems I have opened a can of worms with that statement. It was written in jest, as that is about how many books I have in total, not on my iPad.

One of the reasons, you should do all of your app updates first before you install the new iOS7 is that there are less problems with the apps. Also I have found that some of the apps I have which do not yet have updates and I have closed them out and after going back in found that they are not working properly. By not closing them out (old way was tap on button twice then hold icon down and press minus sign), I have found that they will continue to work. That is what works for a couple of my favorite game apps so far.

After getting the error message on Kindle Reader for iPad, I was able archive my books and then re-download them to the Kindle Reader from the cloud. Still, it was an unnecessary annoyance, and I hope it doesn't happen again.
