I have an asus tablet and I keep getting a message pop up when I go to the Kindle app that "unfortunately Amazon Kindle has stopped". How do I correct this so Kindle will work?

Alex P. says:
Try uninstalling and redownloading from Amazon Appstore or Google Play.

Jim Eakins says:
Yes, a reinstall solves the problem but then I am left with the problem of finding all of the books I have not yet read in the archives because everything goes into the archive when I reinstall.

This moring I received the same error .... third time in a week. Something, I wonder, to do with the most recent app update? Amazon, are you listening?

I have just bought an Asus tablet and downloaded all my kindle books. How do I archive the books I have already read and keep the new ones on my tablet?

I tried vers 3.7 on my Asus TF101. Truly horrible. Went back to v 3.6, where I am waiting for positive reviews. The latest,3.8, is still buggy as heck. I am still waiting. A note to Amazon gets a canned reply.... meh. Use Google and sideload back to 3.6, the last unbusted version.

I downloaded an update last night and now page turns a couple of times ok then goes backwards a couple of times. Does anyone else have this problem?

I have the message : "Unfortunately Amazon Kindle has stopped" on a Samsung Galaxy 8.9 tablet. Suggestions? If I try to delete the Ap my only choice is to uninstall updates; there is no choice to uninstall the entire program.

I have the same problem as SR on a samsung Galaxy s4. no option to uninstall. I've tried deleting all of the files on my device, and reinstalling the updates - both from amazon and google play - and nothing works.

Jim Eakins says:
On my Galaxy S4, I go to Settings/More/Application manager/ and then scroll to Amazon Kindle. Select Amazon Kindle and hit the "Uninstall" button. Your install of Amazon Kindle does not show on the list?

I uninstalled kindle from my Asus tablet, then tried to reinstall. Kept getting message already installed, but it's not listed as an app on the tablet.

I've in uninstalled and reinstalled and cleared the data and cache and everything everyone has suggested for the Kindle app on my galaxy s4 and I still get the "unfortunately, amazon Kindle has stopped" message about every 5 minutes. Even if the app is off. This is really obnoxious.

Oddly enough, there is no message, but the kindle app just stops loading, or else it redirects me to the screen where all the apps are shown. Sometimes the screen just becomes black, and there is a legend with "Amazon Kindle" on the top, with the Kindle symbol in the corner. I tried to restart the tablet, reset the tablet, and even install and uninstall the Kindle app, but nothing worked. What should I do?

My books have suddenly disappeared from My Books on my ASUS Tablet and I have no idea where they went and why. Any suggestions?

I frequently get an error message when I am using my Asus tablet for Kindle reading. If I have put the tablet aside for a little while, it locks up. I get "Kindle is not responding. Do you want to close it?" It can then take several cycles of opening and closing Kindle before it will function properly again. I get very frustrated. Is there a way to correct this?
