Ash Krueger says:
So, I was in a Carnivore mood again yesterday. I blasted through the self-titled (one of my all time favorites) and woke up to "Retaliation" this morning. Sadly, I can go no further. The closest one can get is the debut Type O Negative album and I adore Type O Negative, but it's not Carnivore. I really wish Peter and the guys would've recorded something new a few years a go when they did those "reunion" shows. Now it is a sad impossibility with his passing and all. Oh how I would plunk down some cash for even a live record. But anyway, this isn't a discussion only about Carnivore. It's a discussion about other great bands that, much like Carnivore, quit way too early/just quit making records/or have been on long long hiatus. I hope there's not another discussion lurking here anywhere but I apologize if there is. I'm sick and tired and to quote Ozzy, "Sick and tired of feeling sick and tired." Anyway, let's see who we can come up with.

Carnivore- 2 albums

Blind Illusion- 2 albums

Repulsion- 1 album

Control Denied- 1 album (2nd long rumored but it would certainly be the last since Chuck is no longer with us)

Morbid Saint- 1 album

Winter- 1 full length, 1 EP

Sanctuary- 2 albums, Live EP (There's been talk of a new record)

Acid Bath- 2 albums, Demo collection

Bobage says:
Demilich - Nespithe (Has to be the greatest one and done I can think of)
Lykathea Aflame - Elvenefris (Far too good to only have dropped one full length)
Demigod - Slumber of Sullen Eyes (They came back 10 years later and released a couple of albums but the magic of the debut was gone and no one cared) *FOR THOSE INTERESTED, Extreem Music just reissued this album*
Tormentor - Anno Domini (Again, came back over a decade later and for what?? The demo is all that exists to me)
Weakling - (One full length, which is stunning, then crickets. What a shame)
Blasphemy - (A demo and 2 full lengths, then disappearance. Another shame)
Dawn - (A few phenomenal demos, 2 full lengths, the latest of which is a blackened death masterpiece, then nothing more from the Swedish gods of invisibility)
Dissection - (Such a shame they only dropped 2 full lengths...that's right, REINKAÙS never happened)
Corpus Rottus - (Awesome debut full length, then a couple of EP's...underacheivers)
Deathevokation - (One full length to date which is criminal because it's a bona fide (thank you Ian) death metal classic)
Disincarnate - (Another classic full length debut which kills, then permanent vacation)
Evoke - (A bunch of demos, 2 full lengths, and a lot of lost potential)
Massacre - (Only a demo, 1 full length, and an EP that are worth speaking of...bummer)
Rippikoulu - (Weeps)
Timeghoul - (2 excellent demos, then pushed up the daisies)

If The Wakedead Gathering doesn't follow up that amazing debut one of these years, they're next on this list.

Bobage says:
The circumstances by which they only released one album are indeed tragic however, the world certainly didn't miss out on anything special from this band. Terrible music.

Ash Krueger says:
Oh, don't do that too me. I guess I'm gonna have to go Type O Negative purely because they released more material and I liked all of it. So by way of numbers they win. Carnivore/Retaliation vs. Slow Deep and Hard, Origin of Feces, Bloody Kisses, October Rust, World Coming Down, Life is Killing Me, Dead Again...

Of all of those albums, which ONE is your favorite?

All of these have/had very little output:
