We just completed a game of nominating the 20 worst choices for the Best Picture (or equivalent) Oscar winner. In doing this 18 films did not receive one single nomination. So I am going to overreach and start a second game using these films to come up with a list of the 10 most desrving Best Picture winners. Now some of these pictures might have made it because one film in its group was so bad that it got all the derision, so some of these films will not live long on the list. But I feel that these films will drop off fast.

Two films that received one nomination are also being included to bring the list up to 20 since I know people will be asking why they are not on the list.

So here are the overall rules.

1. Vote once a day.

2. Copy the previous persons post and note who you followed.

3. Add one point to the film you feel is the Best of the Best and subtract one point to the film you feel is least deserving to be on the list.

4. Note the film you add one to and the film you minused one from. (If the film goes to zero remove)

5. If you want you can elaborate on your choices but this is not required.

The following is the list of films that made the cut:

1927/28 (1st) - Wings (Outstanding Picture) (5)
1927/28 (1st) - Sunrise (Artistic Quality of Production) (5)
1934 (7th) - It Happened One Night (5)
1939 (12th) -Gone with the Wind (5)
1940 (13th) - Rebecca (5)
1941 (14th) - How Green Was My Valley (5)
1942 (15th) - Mrs. Miniver (5)
1950 (23rd) - All about Eve (5)
1957 (30th) - The Bridge on the River Kwai (5)
1958 (31st) - Gigi (5)
1959 (32nd) - Ben-Hur (5)
1960 (33rd) - The Apartment (5)
1964 (37th) - My Fair Lady (5)
1965 (38th) - The Sound of Music (5)
1970 (43rd) - Patton (5)
1972 (45th) - The Godfather (5)
1974 (47th) - The Godfather Part II (5)
1988 (61st) - Rain Man (5)
1998 (71st) - Shakespeare in Love (5)
2003 (76th) - The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (5)

Have fun

And the final results and TOP 10 are...
1. All About Eve
2. Sunrise
3. The Bridge on the River Kwai
4. Mrs Miniver
5. The Apartment
6. Wings
7. Gigi
8. Lord of the Rings: Return of the King
9. The Sound of Music
10. Ben-Hur

For me, there were just too many WORST films to choose from
& not enough time to vote.
My favorite Best Picture winners aren't here--

Oops--how could I forget "On The Waterfront"?
"Marty"
"One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest"
"Annie Hall"
"Ordinary People"
"American Beauty"
& "Crash".
Now have to add "The Artist" to this list.

Plus Gigi It's actually a toss-up between this and It Happened One Night. But Gigi has been trashed unfairly in many forums as somehow undeserving. Maybe they're confusing it with Gigli.
Minus Shakespeare in Love(Obviously the main reason this on didn't get any votes was because competion so strong in its category. I predict this one will be the first one dropped.

Sunrise has one of the best DVD's ever, if you do not own it definitely buy it. The extra features are worth the price alone. If you cannot find it, it is part of a box set with How Green is My Valley and All About Eve

Plus The Apartment - i am not surprised at all that Mister G doesn't find this flick funny. No, not surprised at all.

Unihorned Sloan,

Yeah, it was either that or Sloany Sloan Sloan (Album Version), but I think I already did that cheap pun. And I wouldn't want to give the impression I have a daily obsession with Crispin Glover, however true that might be. . .

P.S. - I will bet any amount on the probability that certain users voting against 'Cavalcade' and 'Sunrise' have never seen these movies and are only voting against out of spite. Seems a passive aggressive way to vote.
Why not just say "Hey, Kinoman, you suck! Now watch me vote down something I've actually seen and dislike." That would seem to me the more mature response. Relatively speaking.

We share (yet again) a love for Crispin! Actually, an old poster (Skull Hunter Ghoul - a drummer like you) and I hit it off because of our shared love for the Glovester. We used to joke about his alien credentials - if ever a human was alien, its Crispin.

@votes
Its twoo, its twoo! What can we do?

Kinoman: 'Why not just say ''Hey, Kinoman, you suck!...'''

Okay, let me try it. 'Hey, Kinoman! You suck, you j@ck@$$!' Sorry about that, but after reading your comment, I just had to quote Happy Gilmore.
