I recently watched Midnight Cowboy for the first time in years. I was surprized how good it was and for a period piece it still holds up well. More than anything I was touched by the humanity of the characters and the story. Very depressing but, great movie. What do you think?

Dustin Hoffman's acting is amazing. When he died in the film, he actually kept his eyes partially open with the eyelids not moving at all. How hard is that?
