My vote goes to Lee Allen. I didn't know his name until he did a couple of albums with The Blasters in the Eighties. However he'd been recording since the Forties and worked with such artists as Fats Domino, Little Richard and Lloyd Price. He died in 1994.

@Johnny Bee:

<<James Chance aka James White>>

I love the guy. I have a few of his Chance albums on cassette. Live in NY and Exorcism. I'm going to convert those to cd if I can figure out how I can work a little device I bought to convert cassette analog to mp3 digital and then make a cd out of it. I don't trust cassettes over the long haul anymore.

As far as White albums, I have Sax Maniac and Off White by James White and the Blacks on vinyl as well as Second Chance by James White and the Contortions. I also have a dual Buy/Off White on cd.

I would have loved to have seen him live in his day. He seemed kind of jerky cool. The last time I checked, there were a few video's of him on youtube. (There's probably a few video's of everyone on youtube.)
