Cannibal Corpse album covers stand out in a category of their own.

Thank you for your kind words.
Our friend Joe the Priest saw Ringo recently, and Paul showed up to sing 'Birthday' on Ringo's birthday.
I like both Lynyrd Skynyrd and Frampton, and look forward to the broadcast. I have a good Skynyrd story to share some time.
Take care, John

Wow..hasn't anyone mentioned Dark Side of the Moon?! Yes, its simplistic..but my God..its one of the most iconic album covers of all time! And I have to agree..as far as an album by album basis, Iron Maiden is one of the best..gotta love Eddie!

Hi, John! Hi, Joe!
Great! Keep in Touch, Guys!
American Masters just showed
a fine Neil Young documentary last night (in So Cal).
I'm not a huge fan, but it was really good!
Try and catch it if you can. It's also on video.
Looking forward to the Skynyrd story, John.
Will check back soon.
'Bye for Now. Pat.

For me one of my favorite is Genesis-Seconds Out
The two banks of lights at the top and the smoke just harkens back to the good old days of rock concerts. This cover says it all for me. In case you're wondering I am a bit partial to Genesis since it is my favorite band of all time.

Here's my Lynyrd Skynyrd story. I'm a big time Who fan. I've seen them many times. In the summer of 1973 they were doing their Quadrophenia tour. I went to see them at Madison Square Garden. The opening act was Lynyrd Skynyrd. I had never heard of them. I arrived late while Skynyrd was playing. I thought they were ok, but I was hoping they would finish soon, so The Who would come on. Most people were not paying attention to them. People were walking around, and talking, and not at their seats. Skynyrd started their last song, 'Free Bird'. Little by little, people started to pay attention. By the time the song was finished, everyone was at their seat, jumping up and down, and screaming for more. It was a memorable performance. I knew they were something special. The next day I bought their first album. I've been a fan ever since.

Hi, John! Cool!
Glad to hear that you got to see the original LS group.
Did you ever see them again after that night, when you
were more familiar with them? I hope you did, but I figure no, since you didn't mention it. Anyway, cool. Take Care, John. I'll try to post a few more 'Best Album Covers' if I can think of any personal favorites or wild obscure ones. Sincerely, Pat

The original "Let It Be" album which came in a box; the original "Court of the Crimson King " which was a pull out and had the dimpled cover and the original Beatles album (which was pulled) which showed them dressed up as butchers, all bloody with pieces of meat all over the place.

I bought the European version of "Outsideinside" by Blue Cheer in 1968. It had that wild red/blue striped photo of Dick, Leigh and Paul in high def vivid colors. They looked so insanely cool, I had to buy it. Looking back, I now consider that to be the first "Heavy Metal" album ever made.
