This looks like a horrible idea. Anyone know anything?

This Christmas

I'm thinking: like the Air Supply Christmas album? Wing Sings Carols? Scott Weiland chugs Jack Daniels and sloppy sings his Christmas album? Kenny G?

How about Burl Ives singing "Holly Jolly Christmas" on every radio station and in every retail and eating establishment from now until Christmas day?

Oh - wait - we already have that...

I have it on good authority that Daffy really digs Roomful of Christmas while Elmer goes for Christmas Island. Who knew?

Perhaps comparable to Hung for the Holidays?

The Three Stooges (Larry, Moe, and Curley Joe) did a six song Ep--a classic.

I was just at a Smith's Marketplace (I think of it as a kind of "Kmart-lite")--looked but did. not. buy. a Kenny G. Christmas 16 track package for $8.99 and tax.

Actually, it alternates with 'Granma'

You've been to Tooele? The Goshute (pronounced "Go Shoot") Indians west of there.

Had some luck today (love crate digging for vinyl). Local shop, 10,000 junk Lp titles, $1 each.

Picked up a beauty copy of Jim Nabors' 2nd Columbia Christmas album, and the early '60s Ray Conniff Christmas Lp (1963, I think). But the artistic topper --non Christmas title-- was MITCH MILLER'S GREATEST HITS in rechannelled stereo. I've never seen so many copies of junk-to-marginal condition Olivia Newton-John Lps from the '70s in one place, though. I THINK I finally plugged the ONE Merle Haggard Capitol Lp hole in my collection, still in the shrink, and me happy!

Good point. I'm thinking that "Granma" might disappear from the mandatory Christmas retail programming in the next 5 years or so.

However...sing with me now... "Have a Holly Jolly Christmas...It's the best time of the year...."

You're welcome for the ear worm.

When I was 5 or 6 I had a 45 rpm of The Three Stooges singing "All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth". I don't recall the flip side.

"Granma" -- is that "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer"?

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 17, 2012 6:37:06 AM PST
Hinch,

I had that Stooges 45 as well.

I think it was an EP that also included
"I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas".

It's possible there have been several versions. I read there was a 6 song ep. I also found this. It says 1969, but mine would have been from the 50s, so it's possible it had 3 songs. It's been so long I can't remember.

Johnny, I've never heard of that album or singer before!!!! lol.

I just looked him up on Wikipedia, and see that he had a band called Thee Headcoatees. Jonathan Baker likes that group.
