"Alright....we're gonna slow it down here for ya right now..."

80's Metal bands were notorious for being loud and crazy rockers for 95% of their music...and often their biggest hit was a slow acoustic ballad. What are your favorites from the Metal era?

I'll start with arguably the best of the bunch to get the obvious choices out of the way.

1. Patience: Guns N Roses
2. Every Rose Has Its Thorn: Poison
3. More Than Words: Extreme

I'll take it a step further. Thrash metal going acoustic, which is a far greater stretch than some mainstream pansy hair band like Poison or Extreme pandering to starry eyed teenage girls.

Death Angel -- A Room with a View (from Act III)

It was far from their biggest hit, but most Black Sabbath freaks love Fluff (from Sabbath Bloody Sabbath)
Craig Chaquico, arena rock guitar idol from Jefferson Starship has made a lucrative career out of acoustic Jazz/New Age crossover albums like "Acoustic Planet" and "Acoustic Highway."
Although not commercially successfull as his work in Fates Warning Jim Mattheos has put out some great acoustic New Age albums as well. FIRST IMMPRESSIONS

Viva: "Changes" was also a different pace for Sabbath, although not acoustic, it certainly was a ballad and remains super-popular. Break out the lighters....
