I had a subscription to one of those "internet radio" sites that let you pick favorite artists, and genres, then it "suggests" stuff to you and you could rate the individual songs if you like them. Anyway, one night I'm working on my computer listening to it and a cool Blues song comes was "Banks of the Deep End" by Gov't Mule. I liked what I heard and have become a complete fan since, buying most of their albums (on Amazon) and even seeing them in concert.

Someone sent me a link to a video a couple years ago. After watching it, I kept checking out the next video and the next video and the next....eventually I saw Erik Mongrain perform "Air Tap." I was hooked. He has only two albums, but they're both great.

Also, over the past dozen years I've written (and read) a lot of reviews for solo guitar. One of the reviews I read was for Adrian Legg. I've since purchased nearly all of his albums. [That's why my wife hates the internet. I keep adding more and more artists to my "must buy" list.]

Along with the Dahlmanns on the Pop Detective label is The Deatbeat Poets -- great powerpop, wit, and musicality. Their Circustown CD is brilliant.

I discovered Project Avatar on youtube. She's an unknown 17 year old artist, but she's pretty good!

From Amazon: most notably The Rosebuds and Wye Oak (love love love them!!), although I find great music from the Amazon promotions/samplers/recommendations all the time (Phantogram, Grimes, Imagine Dragons). And just the other day, The National--whose "High Violet" is currently on repeat in my car.

Pandora gave me sayCet, Eisley, Minipop and Zoe Keating... and I think it must have been YouTube that gave me Sebastien Schuller, Blue Sky Black Death, Alexander, and (my now favorite band:) Archive.

I've even had to cut out some bands, so those are just my favorites--or at any rate, the ones I've begun collecting as Amazon MP3s. :)
