Muddy sound & influence continues to reverberate round the world.....its the sound that never dies.....I will never forget seeing him in 78 at the Music Hall in Boston Ma with a stellar supporting cast including Johnny Winter, James Cotton (harp), Pinetop Perkins (88s), Bob Margolin (gtr), Willie Smith (drums), (bass???).....Muddy was like a proud budah & man he had complete command up there so calm & serene on his chair(throne).
I heard a Muddy tune this am on the radio & had no idea it was his birthday....I will dig out some prime Mud to celebrate. (& you should too!)

The one artist i would have love to have seen in the 50's would be Muddy with his great band. In Chicago with that 'new' electric sound. I would love to see that band.
