who else is pissed off that Amazon got rid of the .99cent RDD? They have lost my business on buying my videogames from them on new releases. Wal-mart, I'm coming back!!

Where does it say they got rid of it? I got it just recently for Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance.

Scott says:
It will now cost you $7.98 to have a new release delivered to you on the day it comes out. There is no incentive to buy from Amazon now when the games are just as cheap to buy from Wal-Mart or GameStop.

I think RDD is included with Prime Shipping
It is just another incentive to become a member

99 cent RDD & those $20 pre-order credits were simply promos to attract more customers. Kmart used to do the $20 coupon thing & now they stopped. From what I've seen Amazon has stopped as well. Best Buy is doing it at the moment. But when you are in the business of making a profit you have to cut back on those promotions & hope you actually build a loyal relationship with customers...at least that's what I think lol

Oh, for heavens sake, not ANOTHER thread of people complaining about this. It's simple. They've changed their policy, they don't want to continue losing money on this. Prime subscriptions help Amazon pay for RDD. RDD is included (if available) for free with Prime. If RDD means that much to you, then quit being cheap and get Prime. It's only $79 for a YEAR... you'll spend that much in time/gas just going to/from Wal-Mart and GameStop. *sigh*

um, what do you mean RDD?

StreetSavage says:
RDD is the abbreviation for Release Date Delivery.

Sha Gojyo says:
ahh, ok. and how is $.99 RDD a good thing since Scott makes it sound like Amazon getting rid of $.99 RDD is a bad thing to him?

In reply to an earlier post on Aug 8, 2012, 1:41:51 AM PDT
StreetSavage says:
Because the $0.99 RDD was the reason a lot of people pre-ordered their games from Amazon. Between rising gas prices and taking profit losses by offering $0.99 RDD, Amazon decided it was time to "stop the bleeding."

RDD might be available to non-Prime customers whose address is within close enough distance to a fulfillment center. If that's not the case, RDD won't be offered because Amazon can't guarantee that the game(s) will be delivered on time the next day.

Best Buy has way better offers these days. I've been giving BB all my business over the last few months. You have to become part of there gamers club for the best deals but it's worth it

This person must live in a low tax area of the country. I am at a 10.75% sales tax and can wait a day or two for shipping. Amazon is still a deal, at least for me.

HOLY S#!$ A Best Buy supporter? I will try to say this as calmly as possible. If you have EVER been on the inside (worked for their corporation) you would immediately stop giving them any of your money. Several of my friends and I used to work there, and the policies and regulations they implemented/forced on their employees were completely unethical from a professional business standpoint. Not only that, but if you knew how they really operated their "customer service" you would know they truly do not give a crap about the customers. Their goal is to get as much money as they can into the "Big Wigs' " pockets. Not sure if you have noticed but Best Buy has now changed CEO's 2 times in the past 5-6 years, all because the higher ups are pretty much lining their pockets. As it stands today Best Buy is actually set to go bankrupt within the next 3-5 years as their numbers have been consistently dropping for a long time now.

If you don't want to give your business to Amazon, then I suggest you go the other routes and help out those of us that sell online on ebay, or there's always overstock .com.

You do realize that legally we are required to post all purchases we make online when filing taxes so that we can pay our due taxes on those purchases as well?

Not that I agree with that law, nor am I saying I always 'remember' to add those things on my taxes...just pointing out a fact, lol.

Amazon is likely giving up the fight of not charging sales tax. In the near future all Amazon purchases will be charged the appropriate sales tax per delivery location.

all businesses are like that. Walmart, Toys R us, Target and ect. it's not just Best Buy.

I had no problem paying $75 for the Amazon Prime, I probably order a minimum of 10 items from Amazon every month, most of the time have shipments that are available with Amazon Prime. As long as you order by Midnight, you get it within 2 days. A lot of release date delivery items that you would normally pay .99 for are now free, on top of that you get a lot of free streaming videos from Amazon Instant Video

To me, it's worth it. Anything to NOT support Worst Buy or UsedGamestop. Walmart and Meijer I really don't have complaints about, or Target(Since you get 5% off on all purchases and free shipping on anything online(A multimedia storage cabinet woulda been $50 shipping)

The days of release date delivery being .99 cents and $20 dollar credits are probably over.

Just yesterday I preordered a game thinking I was going to get the RDD deal and ended up paying close to $8 for it.

Actually I just got NHL 13 Collector's Edition with a $15 Credit
Tekken Tag Team Tournment had a 1 day $10 credit offer which I snagged
I got like $2.83 back for ordering Summerslam 2012 and the preorder price protection kicked in.

Not to mention with Amazon Prime, release date delivery is free versus 99 cents, 2 day free shipping on everything is nice, that alone makes it worth it since I probably order close to 100 things a year, and half of that includes release date deliery, games like World of Warcraft Mists of Pandaria, Diablo 3, Borderlands 2, Call of Duty Black Ops 2, Resident Evil 6, Tekken Tag Team Tournament 2, and a bunch of Vita games had it.

As a Prime subscriber, it does not impact me in the least.
