Check out The Belgium Conundrum by Allen Randolph. Looks like a new author but this book is a great read. Billionaire business owner Walter Thompson, the central character of the novel fights right-wing political conservatism that is sweeping American politics. He becomes the target for assassination either for his liberal activism or for what he knows. The attempt to find who's behind the plot, takes the reader on a twisted path revealing espionage, corruption and subterfuge in this multi-layered thriller. Great action sequences. So believeable in ths post -9/11 era that it is scary! Author has a website at

Bill Bowen says:
Look at The Target by Bill Bowen. A dirty bomb at Chicago's Union Station leads to a plot by a group of "average Americans" to demonstrate that the Muslim and Western worlds are equally in danger of terrorists getting nuclear weapons. The story includes three perspectives - the American plotters, a moderate female Muslim immigrant, and a liberal blogger from Berkeley. There are insightful perspectives on terrorism and a Muslim "reformation."

By A Thread
Several reviewers have said that my political thriller By A Thread has a "cinematic quality" and they could easily see it being made into a movie. Perhaps that's because I visualize it happening, as though onscreen, when I write. You can read a preview of the book by clicking on the cover image for the "inside the book" link.

My novel, A Touch of Deceit, is as close as you're going to come to watching a movie in your mind. You can take my word for it, or just go to my Amazon book site and see for yourself. It won the 2009 Southwest Writers award, Thriller category.A Touch of Deceit (Nick Bracco Series)
