T. Reid-

Thanks for proving a lesson to a newbie on this forum. Half the posts made make no sense in any context. It's like stream of consciousness run amok.

Ice King says:
Didn't have to? You mean coaches, teachers, parents, etc. don't have an obligation to the children they deal with?

The only real difference in these two speeches is who gave them. They're both equally positive and have the same meaning of "we're all in this together" but the right has decided that what Obama said meant that he hates business owners and what Romney said means he loves America.
Of course, I get why you would do this. After the huge stink you made about Obama's statement you can't just come out and say "Oops! I guess it really is about context".

Thanks for that compliment (I think?). Yeah, I was being stupid but this post wasn't meant to be taken seriously. It's an extreme example of using words out of context.

Take your own advice. I gave my opinion and why. Your response, posted below, does noting to dispute my belief.

"You and the Diva can spin the facts any way that makes you feel warm and fuzzy---but don't try to sell it to those who pay attention to more than soundbites and partisan hacks."

Who is saying "Nuh Uh"?

ET---
Yes, you've given opinions---supported by no facts, just inaccurate, personal interpretations. Your latest post follows that strategy of factless reasoning---ala Romney.

It's interesting that your last response wherein you claim I did nothing to dispute your beliefs used one sentence out of my post; a post that absolutely disputed your belief. You really don't understand context and intellectual honesty do you? Or, perhaps, you just find them inconvenient.

OH....OK. I wasn't sure. You're not like that in here so I was like WTF?....LOL.

You'll get the hang of it. Sometimes you have to go back several posts to understand where someone is coming from.

lol Brilliant!

I love good parody.

Wow, did that put me in my place. "Here" must be a place where asking, learning, and saying 'Thanks' are signs of weakness. Or, perhaps that's just your mentality. Either way, from what I've read so far I believe I can continue to successfully play [with] you.
I think I'll stick around awhile. There are some thoughtful posters from all sides of an issue---and then there's those like you. Thoughtful ideas from serious posters make it worth the effort.

S.

Thanks for the welcome. I can hardly wait to meet 'the others'; sandbox tantrums can be so amusing.

Kaiser Sozey,
I see from the above posts that you are becoming acquainted with some of the "Mean Girls". Check back later this evening when they really get cranked up, I think you will find it as amusing as the rest of us do.

Generally, if you want to direct a post to a certain person (Kaiser), you click on "reply to this post" to something he has posted. Generally posting on another person's post (mine) gets a reply from someone you didn't intend to have a discussion with.

Got how it works now?

You can do that or not. None of this is for a grade. She's got no mojo here.

Let's explain the speech in words a Romney supporter can understand..."The Government is People"...

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 26, 2012, 11:20:26 AM PDT
ET says:
Really? Wow, I'm shocked.

Now, did you have a point since the post you replied to was not about government?

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 26, 2012, 11:23:23 AM PDT
Olympics are government controlled and organized in some nations, and they do the same things, organizing for the olympics can be compared to organizing infrastructure the way govenments do...and it is run by people...sort of like corporations...

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 26, 2012, 11:24:50 AM PDT
ET says:
How does that relate to the issue of the two speeches? The government doesn't control the athletes in the U.S.

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 26, 2012, 11:56:30 AM PDT
But America has a quasi -government type authority (The Olympic Commitee) to oversee the olympic organizing here. And the members and athletes all organize, and work together (like goverment should) for a common purpose (like government does).

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 26, 2012, 12:11:22 PM PDT
ET says:
Again, what does this have to do with the two speeches?

One speech was about the Olympics, and the other speech was about small business. I don't see the correlation you're trying to draw.

Look, I tried twice, there is water...if you are thirsty, drink.
