I'm a little offended that fryfan accused me of doing it.

Fair enough.

As I stated I will be voting third party in the general election.

Trying to get the Grand Old Party to cut on defense spending, overturn the patriot act, legalize Maryjane is such a far lost cause I am not even sure what the point of Ron Paul (REPUBLICAN) is anymore.

I am glad you think it will send a message to republicans - I get my message from their voting records and they are 10x as likely to vote for things like the patriot act than democrats.

Just wanted clarification - if this is on a public forum I as a participant wanted ot know if my assumptions were correct.

I am sure it was more like one or two people voting 14 times

Sheila (NJ) says:
I will be voting third party in the general election too.

I guess I'm more of an optimist than you are.

In reply to an earlier post on Apr 4, 2012, 8:48:59 AM PDT
Sheila (NJ) says:
I find it ridiculous that you would make that assumption about me. My posts are almost always voted down in this forum, there was a thread the other day where I made a statement and got something like 2 to 8 agree and then Katrina said she agreed with me and got 5 to 6 agree with her. Something like that wouldn't happen if I was the one doing the voting.

Sheila (NJ) says:
I'm sure it was, but I still find it weird that someone even bothered to do that, it is such an innocuous post.

Optimist about the GOP?

I can look at the recent voting break down on extension on the Patriot act - the 100+ people voting against extending it are NOT republicans.

I can look at votes against the authorization to use force-
I can look at the votes and the bills to bigger our military

I can see what the GOP stands for as a party in full and I can make an educated determination that ONE person is not going to change the party. I have a better shot working where there is already a sizeable interest in overturning the patriot act and shrinking our military.

I have not up or downvoted once in this thread.

The downvoting started after you were talking about keeping it on the dl - that is why I thought it was curious.

Sheila (NJ) says:
Just because I belong to the party doesn't mean I have to vote that way, it just means I have a say in the primaries. The democrats don't represent my interests so there is no reason to join them, and the Libertarians are going to pick a good candidate without my input.

Bob says:
Republicans want a bigger military
Republicans support the patriot act
Republicans have shown no interest in legalizing drugs.
Republicans are mainly pro-life.

As a group I can not stand what the republicans represent - Between the two parties I have to choose the party that at least has a good % of members that want a small military, want the patriot act killed, want legalization, etc.

No it didn't, by the time I arrived here 8 people had already downvoted the OP. If we wanted to hide things we would have just stopped posting and deleted all of our comments. I assumed IQ2 didn't want me to reveal too much about my husband so that people here couldn't find me.

Sheila (NJ) says:
I want a big military, I just don't want them deployed all over the world.
The democrats supported the Patriot Act in the beginning and I believe they only vote no now because they know only a few of them need to vote yes in order for it to pass. The establishment wants it.
Very few people in Washington want to legalize drugs.
I consider myself pro-life.

Good - than we established why we both are were we are.

Ron Paul is aligned with the Republicans

People like Dennis Kuchinich and Bernie Sanders are aligned with the Democrats - there are people that go out and call for more personal freedom and things that are considered right on the left also.

Ron Paul has reached across the aisle - I would hope you would understand that some things like the patriot act and drugs will be changed by large Democrat support. I will contiue working in MY party to push those topics to the forefront.

Sheila at least has principal and will not vote for Obamalite.

I have more respect for her on trying to move the party forward than those trying to march it back 20 years by supporting Gingrich and Santorum.
