Peppino D'Agostino is excellent, too, but I still have to go with Laurence Juber. He has magic fingers!

Historically, basically a tie between Mississippi John Hurt, Rev. Gary Davis, and Blind Blake. All three unique players, and unique singers too! Especially the first two.

The late, great Chet Atkins.
Anyone else is a distant second at best.

Tommy Emmanuel is not bad when he is actually playing music as opposed to showing off.
Great technique, but needs to learn how to make music, not just play a lot of notes.
