I haven't tried M-Audio but I have Lexicon Alpha and it works just fine. At any rate, it probably just comes down to how much you want to spend. I mean I've seen interfaces for thousands of dollars and not much difference in performance.

I had the M-Audio Fast Track and I was on the fast track to return it to G.C. It produced very loud white noise, pops and cracks! It was bundled with a version of Protools that limits you to only 16 tracks. I went with the Presonus Audiobox and it has been great! Its bundled with Presonus Studio One Artist. Which is a great starter program and has unlimited tracks!
