It is always amusing with christians.

"This god is MY god."

"MY god is.....blah,blah"

It sounds like a child. Just replace god with the word toy.

The child "MY toy. That is MY toy.

Christian adult: MY god. He is MY god. MY god speaks to me." "I have a personal relationship with MY god."

A lot of delusional twaddle goes back and forth between adults who are infected with this christian virus.

J. L. :

Well, your god must not be the Christian God then, because people have noses and God made people to look like Him.

"Your God does not exist."

That is what humans who are suppose to be adults say about another religion. Christians are atheistic toward Islam, Shinto, Hindu etc....The same applies to the Muslim. He/she is atheistic toward Christian god, Hindu, Shinto etc..... However, for some strange reason in their psychological makeup, their particular highly specific god with human concocted attributes and characteristics that is a brand of god (without any actual evidence for support) is suppose to be the "truth" and actually exists.

Stripping away everything. It is basically and essentially this.....

Christian "My god exists and your god does not exist. God is a christian etc..."
Muslim 'My god exists and your christian god does not exist etc..."

Like children in a playground.

The Atheist is like the adult parent who then talks to these two playground believers.

The Atheist : "Neither one of your gods exist. They are all imaginary and lets stop all this fighting over this nonsense."

God the unknowable essence?-- well, God is indeed unknowable because there is no such critter. Thank God! Well said, Scientific Mind-- "twaddle" is the word. Or one of the printable words anyway. And yes, trying to talk sense to people who babble about such imaginary beings is indeed like talking to children on a playground. By the way, I like what Richard Dawkins says, to the effect that everyone disbelieves in most of the gods that humans insist on inventing-- we atheists just go one god further. One of my favorite things to say to religionists is: "Are there any religions in the world that you don't believe in?" The religionist will generally say, "Well, of course, there are many religions in the world that I don't believe in." Whereupon I reply, "Then you should have no trouble understanding why I don't believe in yours."

DonTheReader says:
All gods are created by man. To speculate otherwise is futile and absurd. If we simply claim that God is beyond what we know, otherwise the god of the gaps, it begins to get even more dangerous and detrimental.

Limitations of atheists' thinking? On the contrary, it is religionists who are limited in their thinking. We atheists have the intellectual courage to face the universe the way it is, quite without, and without any need of, gods and demons and kindred claptrap.

I don't think the claim is "beyond what we know", I think it is "beyond what is knowable in principle". Not sure how useful this definition is, but it surely avoids god being "god if the gaps" kind of god.

Hello Here For The Music,

It is not anti religion. It is called pointing out the fallacies, inconsistencies and danger of religious belief. It is a load of concocted nonsense that is not only convoluted and fantasy, but dangerous because it makes some people do things like kill people or fly planes into buildings. Christians burning down or killing/physically harming doctors/patients at abortion clinics because of their religious beliefs. We know who flew the planes into the Twin Towers. All for Allah.

It is 1st and 2nd century superstition and nonsense from the Middle East that is existing in a country that is suppose to be enlightened and exists in the 21st century.

Here For The Music writes "I guess this is what I get for forgetting this is the (Anti)religion forum."

The Flat Earth Believer writes "I guess this is what I get for forgetting this is the (Anti) flat earth forum."

The Person who believes in superstition and astrology writes "I guess this is what I get for forgetting this is the (Anti)astrology and superstition forum.
