LOL! And that's the funniest one I've heard yet mediaagent. But that's the stuff we get everytime we mention this group. That's funny. I'm still rollin'.

Yes, Chee Chee and Pepe were included on the Varese compilation Soulful pop and I had "I know I'm in love" in a bootleg but never really liked that song at all.

I don't have any Motown albums on Jermaine Jackson. I just have compilations and that price doesn't seem out of the question considering it probably sold for half that when new. I don't collect Jackson 5 at all and have only select catalogs of its member's solo careers. The Motown ones I'd like to get on Jermaine were later in the 70's and early 80's. Hipo-select may issue something on Jermaine but keep your fingers crossed. I think this 1979 album was pressed in the 80's as a limited cd but I've never seen it and the price would probably scare you if it surfaced.

mediaagent says:
I tell ya,

Jermaine has been pissed about Michael taking his shine...I'm going back to the lyrics of his quick hit "Word To Tha Bad"

"It ain't about your world,
It ain't about the things that you do,
If you don't care, I don't care,
but you keep thinking bout' you
It ain't about you taking my pie
cause you've been taking for a long time,
If you don't care, I don't care"...

He's been pissed...And then he takes his brothers woman! And got the nerve to be in the NOI....
damm...but he is the better singer...LOL!

Hey Brooklyn,

Chee Chee & Peppy were siblings, (Not Really) Keith "Chee Chee" Bolling & Dorothy "Peppy" Moore from Pennsylvania. They had another 45 cut, "Never, Never, Never/ Loving You Really Comes Easy" (1971).
Discovered by record producer Jesse James (the composer/producer of The Fantastic Johnny C's "Boogaloo Down Broadway" among other hits).

Here are some of the singles that they released, all on Buddah Records.
1971 I Know I'm in Love / My Love Will Never Fade Away
1971 Never Never Never / Loving You Really Comes Easy
1972 A Lover's Question / I'm Not an Indian Giver
1973 My Love is Growing / We Belong to Each Other

Hey Eddie or William,
Correct me If I am wrong, but didn't they cut another album on the BRANDING IRON label from Philly with the 45 cut "SUPER YOU"?

I remember CheChe and Pepe (the name anyway). The song titles don't sound familiar, but I'd probably recognize them if I heard them. Where do you live in Maryland Brooklyn? By the way, hello :)

Alfred and Alvin Pelham, Keith and Kirk Gardner from The Ponderosa Twins + One. I loved this group, and I liked their version of, "You Send Me" better than Sams. (Don't read this Lisa) LOL. I also liked "Said It Before". They did a cover of Frankie's "Why Do Fools Fall In Love".

The group had 2 sets of identical twins plus Ricky Spicer, who was the plus one.
2+2+1= The Ponderosa Twins was their first album
Just thought I would give them a mention.

Vannessa says:
Hey Lisa,

I Know I'm In Love
Lyrics
I know, I know that I'm in love
(Yeah, baby)
I know, I know that I'm in love
(Say it one more time)

I know, I know that I'm in love
(Yeah, yeah) and you're the
Only one I'm thinking of

Listen, girl
I feel the same way too
I'm gonna live my whole life
Loving only you

As days go by
The pride of love will shine
The love I got for you
I call it super fine

And if you need me, baby
You can count on me
I'll be there in a hurry
And that, I guarantee

Never thought that
Love could be so grand
But it's so wonderful
I want you to hold my hand

Every single night
Before I go to sleep
I pray so hopefully
That this love will keep

And if you need me, baby
You can count on me
I'll be there in a hurry
And that, I guarantee

I know, I know that I'm in love
(With my girl)
I know, I know that I'm in love
(Come on and love me)

I know, I know that I'm in love
(Yeah, honey) and you're the
Only one I'm thinking of

Love bug bit me
And that ain't no doubt
So full of love
It's pouring out

Just as long
As one and one is two
That's how long
You got me loving you

And if you need me, baby
You can count on me
I'll be there in a hurry
And that, I guarantee

I know, I know that I'm in love
(Ooh, baby) and you're the
Only one I'm thinking of

I know, I know that I'm in love
(Come on and move me)
I know, I know that I'm in love
(Say it one more time)

That's CheChe and Pepe??? I remember that! At first I was like, why is she writing the lyrics to a Jackson 5 song...not the J5! They did sound like them. Thanks for the memory! What year was that?

Hi Lisa,

The correct name is "Chee Chee and Peppy, and that cut was released in 1971. Do you remember seeing them on Soul Train and American Bandstand?

The family John. First as gospel singers, The United Five, who opened for groups like the Swan Silvertones, and the Soul Stirrers. Siblings Mable, Mildred, Mertis, Haywood,
and Little Willie.

The amazingly talented Little Willie John would later record for King with hits like "Fever", "Talk to Me, Talk to Me", and is considered to be one of the first true "Soul" singers. James Brown recorded a tribute album to him after Little Willie John died of pneumonia in a Washington state prison in 1968.

Mable John's successes are numerous: A recording artist at BOTH Motown and Stax, and as leader of Ray Charles' Raelettes for close to 10 years. Doctor Mable John subsequently earned her PhD in counseling psychology, is a minister, AND a published author (of fiction). I'm hoping she's working on her autobiography. Now here is someone who was there from the beginning, knew everybody and must have seen it all. Bless you, Doctor Mable John.

Yes, yes, yes! Chee Chee & Peppy! You guys are awesome! I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy! And I'm not crazy! Wait till I tell my sister this weekend that we both are not crazy. Thanks Vannessa, Silver and Lisa! However, I do not remember them being on Bandstand or Soul Train. I don't think I've ever seen them on anything. Not even Right On magazine. And where do you guys get this info? Maybe I couldn't find anything on them because I had the spelling wrong. Hey Lisa! I am actually in Bowie, Maryland in Prince George's County. Are you familiar?
